  1. 11. Biophysical Studies of Apolipoprotein A-IM and a Partitioning study

    Författare :Malin Suurkuusk; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Apolipoprotein A-IMilano; Apolipoprotein A-I; Lipoprotein; Lipid; Microcalorimetry; DCS; Denaturation; Guanidine Hydrochloride; Physics; Fysik; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The major part of this thesis deals with the similarities and differences in some biophysical properties of apolipoprotein A-I (apo A-I) and the molecular variant apolipoprotein A-IMilano (apo A-IM), and the influence on lipid binding. A model compound partitioning study has also been performed. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Space Weather - Solar magnetic variation and its impact on Earth's atmosphere

    Författare :Fredrik Boberg; Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; klimatologi; kartografi; pedology; Physical geography; marklära; geomorphology; climatology; cartography; space weather - solar magnetism - solar wind - geomagnetic activity- North Atlantic Oscillation - climate change - neural networks- wavelet analysis; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; Astronomy; space research; cosmic chemistry; Astronomi; rymdvetenskap; kosmisk kemi; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Boberg;

    Sammanfattning : A solar magnetic field is continuously being created in the solar interior. As the field evolves outward through the solar atmosphere and into the enveloping heliosphere, it causes effects on a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. LÄS MER

  3. 13. MODELLING-BASED TEACHING IN CHEMISTRY IN A MULTILINGUAL CONTEXT : A tool to explore and visualise the non-spontaneous and abstract?

    Författare :Lizette Widing; Pernilla Nilsson; Pernilla Granklint Enochson; Karina Adbo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to investigate modelling-based teaching in the multilingual context. Modelling-based teaching concerns when students create, discuss, and evaluate representations to visualise concepts and processes. In this thesis, modelling-based teaching has been used in polymer chemistry at a Swedish secondary school. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Ocean chemistry and the evolution of multicellularity

    Författare :Emma U. Hammarlund; Stefan Bengtson; Donald Canfield; Nils Holm; Graham Budd; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geochemistry; biology; paleontology; evolution; multicellularity; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Oxygen has been assumed to be a vital trigger for the evolution of multicellular life forms on Earth, partly based on its power to promote substantial energy flux in cell respiration and partly as biosynthesis of compounds like collagen require oxygen. However, the co-evolution of large life and the Earth’s chemical environment is not well understood at present, and there is particular disagreement in the field about whether the Cambrian explosion of animal life forms was a chemical or biological event. 5. 15. Making science come alive : Student-generated stop-motion animations in science education

    Författare :Daniel Orraryd; Lena Tibell; Jesper Haglund; Jörg Zabel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Stop-motion animation; Student generated representations; Evolution; Alternative conceptions; Redox chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The availability of digital technology in classrooms does not only increase the possibility for teachers to present content in new visual and dynamic ways. This technology also offers students the opportunity to become cocreators of content in science classrooms. LÄS MER
