   Sammanfattning : A novel concept for protein recognition has been developed. The recognition unit is a hybrid molecule obtained by conjugation of a small organic molecule to a synthetic polypeptide selected from a 16-membered set of 42 amino acid residue sequences.    Sammanfattning : The use of positron-emitting tracers has been extended beyond tomographic facilities in the last few years, giving rise to a general positron-emitting tracing technique. The methodological part of the present thesis involved the evaluation of the performance of storage phosphor (SP) plates, with tracers labeled with high-energy, short-lived, positron-emitting radionuclides, using homogenized tissue specimens and autoradiography with frozen brain sections.    Sammanfattning : The present study on dilute suspensions of synaptosomes from rat hippocampus yields evidence that feedback regulation of acetylcholine release in this preparation is exerted by a muscarinic autoreceptor localized on the cholinergic nerve ending itself.A possible model for the sequence of events which may take place at the cholinergic nerve ending is presented.
