21. Radio : Vardagsliv tillsammans med ett massmedium
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the radio medium as a phenomenon of experience. The perspective relates to phenomenological philosophy, dealing with human knowledge as an ongoing intentional relationship with the world: to experience is to grasp things such as they appear to the subjective consciousness. 22. The effect of stress state in ductile failure
Sammanfattning : The industrial application of high strength steels in structural components has increased the demand on understanding the ductile failure behavior of this type of materials. In practical situations the loading experienced on components made out of these materials can be very complex, which may affect the failure behavior. LÄS MER
23. A Segmented Silicon Strip Detector for Photon-Counting Spectral Computed Tomography
Sammanfattning : Spectral computed tomography with energy-resolving detectors has a potential to improve the detectability of images and correspondingly reduce the radiation dose to patients by extracting and properly using the energy information in the broad x-ray spectrum. A silicon photon-counting detector has been developed for spectral CT and it has successfully solved the problem of high photon flux in clinical CT applications by adopting the segmented detector structure and operating the detector in edge-on geometry. 24. Reaction and Diffusion Phenomena in Biomimetic Nanoscale Reactors and Networks
Sammanfattning : Methods for construction of geometrically complex, fully connected surface-immobilized microscopic networks of phospholipid bilayer vesicles (1-50 µm in diameter) interconnected by lipid nanotubes (100-300 nm in diameter), have been developed. The networks have controlled connectivity and are well-defined with regard to the container size, content, angle between nanotube extensions, and nanotube length. LÄS MER
25. Studies of PWO Crystals and Simulations of the p̅p →Λ̅Λ, Λ̅Σ0 Reactions for the PANDA Experiment
Sammanfattning : The thesis comprises investigations of two topics related to the PANDA experiment. The first part is dedicated to energy resolution and light yield uniformity studies of PWO crystals for the electromagnetic calorimeter. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to simulation studies of the p̅p→Λ̅Λ and the p̅p→Λ̅Σ0 channels. LÄS MER
