  1. 1. Varför undervisning i matematik? : argument för matematik i grundskolan - i läroplaner, läroplansdebatt och hos blivande lärare

    Författare :Maria Bjerneby Häll; Bertil Askling; Hans Wallin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Arguments for Mathematics; Curriculum in Mathematics; School Mathematics; Student Teachers in Mathematics; Matematikundervisning; grundskolan; Mathematics; Educational Science;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to investigate, describe and analyse the justification and the goals of mathematics education in compulsory school in Sweden. The focus here is on student teachers and their conceptions of why mathematics should be taught in school. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics in student talk : Inclusion as a topic when students talk about learning and teaching in mathematics

    Författare :Helena Roos; Despina Potari; Hanna Palmér; Nùria Planas; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; inclusion in mathematics; discourse analysis; students meaning s ; Matematikens didaktik; Mathematics education; Mathematical Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to research and practice within the field of special education in mathematics with more knowledge about, and an understanding of, students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics education. Three research questions guide the study: What meaning(s) is/are ascribed, and how is inclusion used, in mathematics education research? What meaning(s) do the students ascribe to inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching? And what frames students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching?The first part of this study began with a systematic literature review on the notion of inclusion in mathematics education research, and the search resulted in 1,296 research studies. 3. 3. Mathematics teachers' conceptions about equations

    Författare :Iiris Attorps; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; algebra; conception; equation; learning; mathematics teacher; Subject didactics; Ämnesdidaktik; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to describe and to clarify the mathematics teachers’ subject matter and pedagogical content conceptions about equations. As the basis of these conceptions, the teachers’ experiences of the concept learning of equations from their own school time are described. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Approaching Mathematical Discourse : Two analytical frameworks and their relation to problem solving interactions

    Författare :Andreas Ryve; Kimmo Eriksson; Inger Wistedt; Anna Sfard; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Didactics of Mathematics; Mathematics Education; Analytical approaches; Communication; Concept maps; Contextualization; Discourse; Engineering students; Higher Education; Intentional analysis; Methodological framworks; Problem solving; Prospective teachers; Student teachers; Teacher education; Theoretical frameworks; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Matematik tillämpad matematik;

    Sammanfattning : The driving force of conducting the two studies presented in this thesis is to examine ways that conceptual understanding and problem solving could be part of mathematics teaching, and through that, part of students' mathematical knowledge. The specific aims of the thesis are: 1) to characterize the classroom discourse of two, apparently similar, problem solving courses in teacher education and 2) to discuss the possibilities of developing two analytical approaches - the communicational approach to cognition and the dialogical approach - used for studying mathematical discourse. 5. 5. Studiesituationen för elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor

    Författare :Eva Pettersson; Inger Wistedt; Håkan Sollervall; Häggblom Lisen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gifted students; mathematics; mathematical abilities; talent development; social norms; socio-mathematical norms; teacher competence; case studies.; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematical Education; Matematikdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : The study aims to describe variation in the expression of students’ mathematical ability and the various ways in which their mathematical aptitude is acknowledged and supported by their teachers, parents and peers in a Swedish context. Ability is defined as a complex of various abilities each of which may be more or less pronounced in a given individual. LÄS MER
