    Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the art of the Polish theatre director, set designer, and visual artist Tadeusz Kantor (1915–1990) and its inherent width of artistic expressions. The aim is to contribute with new interpretations that add to previous research that primarily has studied the body of work from the perspectives of the artist’s intention and biography, and divided his artistic work between visual art and theatre. The sociological theory of Pierre Bourdieu is used as an analytical framework.One part of the thesis studies different social groups on the market.     Sammanfattning : Starting in about 1640, Sweden experienced a building boom among the nobility lasting up to 1680, when Charles XI initiated a massive withdrawal of Crown fiefs. Based on contemporary Swedish sources, the strategies and ideology behind these large new houses are discussed in connection with questions concerning visual identity – corporate as well as individual.
