    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Craft; Osseous; Antler; Horn; Bone; Teeth; Walrus tusk; Elk; Red deer; Reindeer; Networks; Trade; Exchange; Birka; Sigtuna; Uppsala; Strängnäs; Nyköping; Viking; Medieval; Social Agency; Economic Agency; Archaeological Science; laborativ arkeologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the use of various osseous raw materials in craft activities in the Mälaren region during the Middle Ages. Places studied are: Birka, Sigtuna, Nyköping, Strängnäs and Uppsala. The aim is to capture both chronological and spatial changes in the use of osseous raw materials. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Points on Production : Taphonomic research on Mesolithic osseous assemblages in Sweden

    Författare :Sara Gummesson; Jan Storå; Ola Magnell; Kenneth Ritchie; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Osteoarchaeological patterns; Taphonomic analysis; Osseous craft; Mesolithic; Spatial studies; arkeologi; Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : Osteoarchaeological materials are influenced by many consecutive factors, from human hunting strategies, consumption patterns and waste disposal to mechanical and chemical changes in bone structure and shape. Here Mesolithic osteoarchaeological patterns have been examined in relation to the production of bone and antler artefacts. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate different scales of mobility and social networks in Southern Scandinavia around 7000 BC. An essential basis for this work is the hypothesis that the conical core pressure blade technology, a specific method for producing lithic blades, reached Scandinavia from the east. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effects of antiresorptive agents on inflammation and bone regeneration in different osseous sites - experimental and clinical studies

    Sammanfattning : The biological mechanisms involved in bone regeneration in osteoporotic bone and the effect of antiresorptive drugs in relation to surgically inserted biomaterials are not fully understood. Improved osseointegration of titanium implants but also adverse effects of antiresorptive therapies, such as osteonecrotic jaw have been described in the literature. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Diagnostic Accuracy of Tuned Aperture Computed Tomography (TACT®)

    Författare :Madhu K. Nair; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The diagnostic accuracy of Tuned Aperture Computed Tomography (TACT) was evaluated for a variety of diagnostic tasks. Drawbacks of 2D radiography, lack of accessibility and high cost associated with advanced imaging modalities prompted these studies. LÄS MER
