  1. 16. Human intestinal T lymphocytes : a comparative analysis of phenotype and function in normal and inflamed mucosa

    Författare :Silvia Melgar; Nadine Cerf-Bensussan; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; human intestinal mucosa; intraepithelial lymphocyte; lamina propria lymphocyte; γδ T cell; regulatory T cell; cytotoxicity; cytokine; basal lymphoid aggregate; ulcerative colitis; Crohn s disease;

    Sammanfattning : The epithelial lining of the gut must allow immediate contact with beneficial components as nutrients and normal microflora. At the same time it runs the constant risk of attack from pathogenic microbes and noxious agents. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Genomic and Molecular Aspects of Mature Human B Cells

    Författare :Carl-Magnus Högerkorp; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; Human; B-cell; Germinal center; Centroblast; serology; Immunology; onkologi; cancer; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Microarray; Cytology; Mantel cell lymphoma; Immunologi; serologi; Centrocyte;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers aspects of the mature human B cell and its different guises on its way to become a fully differentiated antibody forming plasma cell (AFC), the key player in the humoral immune system. The understanding of the complex molecular mechanisms taking place in the B cell, as it first encounters antigen, enters the germinal center (GC) reaction, giving rise to memory cells and plasma cells, is not only of importance for the curious scientist, but will also benefit the understanding of B cells in disease. 3. 18. Generation of Dopaminergic Neurons from Human Embryonic Stem Cells

    Författare :Tandis Vazin; Joakim Lundeberg; Ernest Arenas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human; dopaminergic; embryonic stem cells; differentiation; stromal cells; PA6 cells; dopamine; neurons; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap; Neurobiology; Neurobiologi; Molecular neurobiology; Molekylär neurobiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Since the first successful derivation of human embryonic stem cells (hESC), rapid progress has been attained in the development of strategies in differentiation of these cells into various neural lineages, with the fundamental objective of using these cells for replacement and repair of damaged neuronal circuits in the central nervous system (CNS). Of particular interest are midbrain dopaminergic (mDA) neurons, which play a central role in regulation of voluntary movement. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Kriget är inte över förrän den sista soldaten är begraven : Minnesarbete och gemenskap kring andra världskriget i S:t Petersburg med omnejd

    Sammanfattning : Avhandlingen undersöker minnespraktiker kring andra världskriget i S:t Petersburg med omnejd, en stad som under namnet Leningrad 1941–44 var belägrad av tyskarna i över två år. På fronterna runt den omringade staden rasade under drygt två år hårda strider. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Learning and memory in the human brain

    Författare :Karl Magnus Petersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The first chapter of the thesis 'Learning and Memory in the Human Brain' provides a brief review of the brain as well as cognition from the point of view of information processing in physical systems. We include a brief outline of information processing as conceived of within the classical framework of cognitive science. LÄS MER
