  1. 1. Theoretical Studies of Cytochrome P450

    Författare :Patrik Rydberg; Beräkningskemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum chemistry; Proteins; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi; Theoretical chemistry; transition-state force field; peroxidase; theoretical chemistry; molecular dynamics; density functional theory; cytochrome P450; porphyrin; haem; heme; kvantkemi; Teoretisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The cytochromes P450 are a large enzyme family that is found in all living organisms and takes part in both endogenous and exogenous metabolism. They are primarily mono-oxygenases and perform a wide range of reactions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Theoretical Studies of Drug-Metabolizing Cytochrome P450 Enzymes

    Författare :Junhao Li; Yaoquan Tu; Ulf Ryde; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cytochrome P450 enzymes; molecular dynamics; quantum chemistry; structural flexibililty; ONIOM; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The family of cytochrome P450 enzymes (P450s) belongs to one of the most important enzyme families in the human body. P450s are involved in the synthesis of endogenous compounds and metabolism of exogenous substances. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cytochrome P450 enzymes affected by artemisinin antimalarials-pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenetic aspects

    Författare :Sara Asimus; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :artemisinin; autoinduction; cytochrome P450; induction; inhibition; malaria; metabolism; pharmacogenetics; pharmacokinetics; probe;

    Sammanfattning : With more than 500 million cases and at least 1 million deaths each year, malaria is a major global health problem. The main problem with malaria control is the emerging drug resistance among parasites causing the infection. Consequently, there is an urgent need for new drugs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cytochrome P450 Enzymes in Bile Acid Biosynthesis and Fatty Acid Metabolism : Studies on Members of the Porcine CYP4A and CYP8B Subfamilies

    Författare :Kerstin Lundell; Kjell Wikvall; Ronnie Hansson; Stefan Alexson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical biochemistry; cytochrome P450; bile acids; fatty acids; CYP4A; CYP8B; genome; porcine; hyocholic acid; Farmaceutisk biokemi; Pharmaceutical biochemistry; Farmaceutisk biokemi; farmaceutisk biokemi; Pharmaceutical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The present investigation is devoted to studies on porcine members of the cytochrome P450 4A (CYP4A) and CYP8B1 subfamilies, which are involved in bile acid biosynthesis and fatty acid metabolism. Hyocholic acid is considered to fulfil the requirements for trihydroxy bile acids in the domestic pig (Sus scrofa) in the absence of cholic acid. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Selective Retention of β-Carbolines and 7,12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene in the Brain : Role of Neuromelanin and Cytochrome P450 for Toxicity

    Sammanfattning : The ß-carbolines norharman and harman structurally resemble the synthetic compound 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) that is known for its ability to damage neuromelanin-containing dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra and thereby induce parkinsonism. MPTP is, however, not normally present in the environment whereas the ß-carbolines are present in cooked food and tobacco smoke. LÄS MER
