  1. 1. Protein-Polymer Interaction and Association in Aqueous Solution

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Biochemistry, Lund University

    Författare :Malin Jönsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Makromolekylär kemi; Macromolecular chemistry; enzymologi; Proteiner; enzymology; Proteins; Aqueous two-phase systems; Monte Carlo Simulations; hydrophobic effect; surface hydrophobicity; plasmid DNA; Protein; polymer;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis has been to study protein-polymer interaction and association. Two different techniques were used; Monte Carlo simulations were combined with partitioning in polymeric aqueous two-phase systems. Monte Carlo simulations have been used to evaluate the hydrophobic interaction in electrolyte solution. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis project has been to create miniaturized analytical tools that improve sample preparation for the very rapidly growing field of proteomics research. The presented miniaturized analytical tools provide novel and generic analytical solutions, which are highly adaptable for analysis of various low abundant biomolecules. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Integration of Aqueous Two-Phase Systems into Recovery Processes for Biomolecules

    Detta är en avhandling från Folke Tjerneld, Department of Biochemistry, Lund University

    Författare :Cecilia Kepka; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Proteins; proteins; plasmid DNA; large-scale; protein purification; integration; Expression; aqueous two-phase systems; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Sammanfattning : The main scope of this thesis has been to study and develop new purification methods and also to further develop existing methods for purification to enhance their efficacy. Important parameters in the development of the methods are that they should be suitable for scale-up and possible to be integrated into recovery processes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Expression and purification of membrane proteins: Focus on the G-protein coupled receptor MC4r

    Detta är en avhandling från Viveka Dolby, Department of Biochemistry, Center for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Lund University, P.O. Box 124, S-221 00 Lund

    Författare :Viveka Dolby; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi; Proteins; melanocortin 4 receptor; GPCR; purification; Expression; membrane proteins;

    Sammanfattning : Membrane proteins are crucial components of the cell and are involved in many biological processes. Recombinant overexpression systems together with different purification methods are necessary to obtain large amounts of purified receptor for biophysical and functional studies. LÄS MER
