1. From Particle-Production Cross Sections to KERMA and Absorbed Dose for the Case 96 MeV n-12C Interactions
Sammanfattning : Neutron-carbon interactions have been studied with a focus on charged-particle production of relevance to radiation protection and medical applications, such as cancer therapy. The measurements have been performed using the particle-detection setup, MEDLEY, and the 96 MeV neutron beam at the The Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala. LÄS MER

3. The Discourse of Oratory : The New Rhetoric and Romantic Writing in Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Britain
Sammanfattning : The Discourse of Oratory: The New Rhetoric and Romantic Writing is a study of the cultural anxieties about the power of public speaking that pervaded the mid eighteenth to early nineteenth centuries. Its argument is that those anxieties formed a discursive center for two of the most important forces in the history of British letters and literary studies -- Romanticism and the New Rhetoric -- and that those forces engaged it primarily through a shared concern with the rise of religious evangelism. 4. Studies on Prostanoid Production in the Umbilicoplacental Circulation
Sammanfattning : The fetoplacental circulation is a low pressure system with a high vascular prostacyclin to thromboxane (Pc/Tx)synthesis ratio. In intrauterin growth restriction (IUGR) and diabetes the prostanoid balance may be altered. LÄS MER
5. Tissue engineering for novel female infertillity treatments: studies on small and large animal models
Sammanfattning : Introduction: As with any transplantation (Tx) procedure, uterus Tx is associated with risky donor surgery and adverse side-effects from immunosuppression. With the aim to bypass these risks, this thesis investigated uterus tissue engineering strategies and the potential to develop a patient-specific uterus graft to replace the need for donor surgery and immunosuppression.
