  1. 1. Education for sustainable food consumption in home and consumer studies : Lärande för hållbar matkonsumtion i hem- och konsumentkunskap

    Författare :Emmalee Gisslevik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ekologiska livsmedel; Utbildning; Hem- och konsumentkunskap; Grundskolan; Läroplaner; Hållbar utveckling; Natural foods; Curricula; Education; Education; Elementary; Elementary schools; Home economics; Sustainable development; Education for sustainable development; Sustainable consumption; Sustainable food consumption; Compulsory school; Food;

    Sammanfattning : Education as a means to enable sustainable food consumption has gained increasing recognition as a vital means to decrease current burdens upon both natural resources and human health. In response, the Swedish compulsory school subject of home and consumer studies, which positions education about food as core content, has been revised to incorporate in its national syllabus a perspective of sustainable development since 2011. 2. 2. RsbX and stress response in Listeria monocytogenes

    Författare :Ana Henriques de Oliveira; Jörgen Johansson; Cormac Gahan; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Listeria monocytogenes; SigB; stressosome; RsbX; phosphorylation; growth; competitiveness; motility; energetic cost; homeostasis; stress response; virulence; invasion; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology; mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Listeria monocytogenes is a ubiquitous foodborne Gram-positive bacterium. Despite being mainly a soil bacterium, it can reach the food processing environment and contaminate food destined for human consumption, causing outbreaks. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Lipids in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and effects on human health

    Författare :Jan Mraz; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : There is evidence that n-3 fatty acids (FA), especially EPA and DHA, are beneficial for human health. This thesis examined factors influencing FA composition in common carp flesh, sought to develop a procedure for long-term sustainable culture of common carp with improved muscle lipid quality (omega 3 carp) and studied the health benefits of eating such carp in the secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. 4. 4. Supply and value chain analyses of warqe food products in relation to post-harvest losses

    Författare :Ashenafi Chaka Tuffa; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Post-harvest losses are a global problem and are of critical importance in food-insecure countries such as Ethiopia. Losses of root and tuber crops are known to be high in developing countries, where many of the population are dependent on these crops. Warqe (Ensete ventricosum (Welw.) Cheesman) is a staple crop in Ethiopia. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Land-use competition and agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in a climate change mitigation perspective

    Författare :David Bryngelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioenergy; Diets; Livestock; Integrated assessment model; Land use competition; GHG emissions; Partial equilibrium model; Mitigation; Food consumption; Climate change;

    Sammanfattning : Productive land for food production, bioenergy, or preservation of nature is a limited resource. Climate change mitigation puts additional pressure on land via higher demand for bioenergy to replace fossil fuels and via restrictions on deforestation—two processes that limit the availability of land for food produc- tion, and may thus also raise food prices.
