  1. 1. Non-CO2 greenhouse gases, uncertainty and land-use competition

    Författare :Daniel Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kyoto protocol; energy system; integrated assessment; environmental economics; land use change; bioenergy; climate change; greenhouse gases; GWP;

    Sammanfattning : Over the past 250 years the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have increased drastically. It is close to scientific consensus that these changes have increased the temperature of the earth. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Land-use competition and agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in a climate change mitigation perspective

    Författare :David Bryngelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioenergy; Diets; Livestock; Integrated assessment model; Land use competition; GHG emissions; Partial equilibrium model; Mitigation; Food consumption; Climate change;

    Sammanfattning : Productive land for food production, bioenergy, or preservation of nature is a limited resource. Climate change mitigation puts additional pressure on land via higher demand for bioenergy to replace fossil fuels and via restrictions on deforestation—two processes that limit the availability of land for food produc- tion, and may thus also raise food prices. 3. 3. Soil phosphorus – a multidimensional resource that plays an important role for grassland plant species richness

    Författare :Jakob Sandberg; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; niche dimension; nutrient limitation; niche differentiation; competition; soil nitrogen; soil phosphorus; plant diversity; species richness; Grassland; land use; landscape scale;

    Sammanfattning : The semi-natural grassland habitats contain an important part of the plant diversity in Europe. Changes in farming practices have lead to drastic decreases in plant species richness. The aim of the present thesis is to contribute to the knowledge about mechanisms governing the plant species richness in grasslands with emphasis on soil nutrients. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Land use effects on nitrous oxide emission from drained organic soils

    Författare :Per Weslien; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Greenhouse gas emissions; N2O; Peat soils; Land use;

    Sammanfattning : Since industrialisation, the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases (GHG) has increased significantly. The most important anthropogenic GHGs are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O). N2O is of major concern for two reasons; i) it is a potent GHG responsible for 6. LÄS MER
