  1. 31. Neuronal Networks of Movement : Slc10a4 as a Modulator & Dmrt3 as a Gait-keeper

    Författare :Martin Larhammar; Klas Kullander; Leif Andersson; Åsa Wallén-Mackenzie; Robert Fyffe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Synaptic vesicle transporter; Neuromodulation; Dopamine; Central Pattern Generator; Locomotion; Gait; Horse; Mouse; Commissural Inhibitory Interneuron; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Nerve cells are organized into complex networks that comprise the building blocks of our nervous system. Neurons communicate by transmitting messenger molecules released from synaptic vesicles. Alterations in neuronal circuitry and synaptic signaling contribute to a wide range of neurological conditions, often with consequences for movement. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Small-Scale Decentralized Energy Systems : optimization and performance analysis

    Författare :Sara Ghaem Sigarchian; Viktoria Martin; Anders Malmquist; Erik Dahlquist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Small-scale polygeneration energy systems; techno-economic optimization; renewable energy; operating strategy; particle swarm optimization; optimization algorithm; decentralized energy system;

    Sammanfattning : Small-scale polygeneration energy systems, providing multiple energy services, such as heating, electricity, cooling, and clean water, using multiple energy sources (renewable and non-renewable) are considered an important component in the energy transition movement. Exploiting locally available energy sources and providing energy services close to the end users have potential environmental, economic, and societal benefits. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Human rights as law, language, and space-making : women’s rights movement in post-revolutionary Egypt

    Författare :Emma Sundkvist; Lena Halldenius; Linde Lindkvist; Mulki Al-Sharmani; Mänskliga rättigheter; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Egypt; Human rights; Women s movement; Post-revolution; Feminist activism; Mänskliga rättigheter; Kvinnorörelsen; Mänskliga rättigheter; Human Rights; Egypt; Human rights; Women s movement; Post-revolution; Feminist activism;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation analyses feminist activists’ use of human rights in post-revolutionary Egypt from 2011 to 2019. Drawing on interviews with feminist activists under three fieldwork trips, the dissertation investigates how: activists tried to implement gender equality in the country’s new constitutions, navigated the shrinking public space after 2013, sustained their activism against sexual violence despite a fragmented movement and repressive politics, and how we can understand contentious streets activism against sexual violence from a human rights perspective. 4. 34. Computer Vision Based Analysis of Animal Behavior

    Författare :Tobias Palmér; Mathematical Imaging Group; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datorseende; bildanalys; djurbeteende; neurofysiologi; tillämpningar; refraktion; Computer vision; animal tracking; behavioral analysis; refractions; underwater images; relative pose;

    Sammanfattning : The behavior of animals is commonly studied in medicine and biology. There is a large variation in what animals are studied, in experimental paradigms and purpose.However, many studies on animal behavior have at least one thing in common - it typically involves measuring or studying the kinematics of the animal. Sammanfattning : The ability to obtain correct balance control information and adjust motor performance appropriately are essential elements in effective postural control. However, functional disorders may affect the reliability of receptor information and ability to carry out corrective motions needed to maintain balance. LÄS MER
