  1. 1. Serine protease inhibitors in the upper and lower airways

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Camilla Hollander; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; auditive system and speech; Neutrophils; audiology; Otorhinolaryngology; Medicin människa och djur ; AAT; Medicine human and vertebrates ; SLPI; cytokines chemokines; anti-proteases; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen; Airway inflammation; Otorinolaryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : Proteases and their inhibitors are implicated in the physiology and pathology of the airways. Protease inhibitors include those produced locally, such as secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI), and those produced mainly by the liver that can reach the airways via passive diffusion, such as alpha1-antitrypsin (AAT). 2. 2. Problems of language and communication in children; Identification and intervention

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Logopedics, Phoniatrics and Audiology, Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Barbro Bruce; [2007]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiology; Medicin människa och djur ; Otorhinolaryngology; Interaction; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Intervention; Screening; Language and communication problems; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen; ADHD; Identification;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses identification and intervention of language and communication problems in children. The issue of identification is addressed in study I by investigating communicative ability in 18-month-old children, and in study II by exploring the prevalence of language and communication problems in children with complex problems, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 3. 3. Visual influences on vestibular compensation and postural control

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Lund University

    Författare :Anna Hafström; [2007]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Otorhinolaryngology; audiology; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; Medicin människa och djur ; Vestibular schwannoma; Alcohol intoxication.; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Vestibular deafferentation; Visual-vestibular interactions; Subjective visual horizontal and vertical; Visual dependence; Utriculus; Balance; Vision; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aimed to investigate visual-vestibular interactions in healthy subjects and in patients with a well defined unilateral vestibular lesion (vestibular schwannoma before and six months after translabyrinthine surgery). Visual information is particularly important for balance control during perturbed stance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Specific Language Impairment in Swedish: Grammar and Interaction

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Logopedics, Phoniatrics and Audiology, Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Kristina Hansson; [1998]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Otorhinolaryngology; interaction; mazes; subordination; word order; verb forms; grammar; Swedish; specific language impairment; audiology; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this work was to explore grammar in Swedish children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI), that is children with impaired language development in the presence of normal hearing and otherwise normal development. In four differents studies, spontaneous data from six children with SLI were analysed and compared with data from either younger children with phonological impairment but normal grammar (PI), or from younger controls with typical development. 5. 5. PACAP and airway regulation with special reference to smooth muscle and neutrophils

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Lund University

    Författare :Johan Kinhult; [2003]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; audiology; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen; Otorhinolaryngology; allergy; neutrophils; smooth muscle; PACAP; airway regulation;

    Sammanfattning : The investigations focus on the neuropeptidepituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide and its effects on airway regulation, with emphasis on smooth muscle relaxation and neutrophil activation and migration. In the nasal mucosa, PACAP-containing nerve fibers were localized invascular smooth muscle and close to seromucous glands. LÄS MER
