  1. 31. Density Functional Theory Calculations for Graphene-based Gas Sensor Technology

    Författare :Karim Elgammal; Anna Delin; Giuseppe Iannaccone; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; graphene; ab-initio; humidity; carbon dioxide; substrate; DFT; vdW; first-principle; simulation; calculations; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays, electronic devices span a diverse pool of applications, especially when getting smaller and smaller satisfying the more than Moore paradigm. To further develop this, studies focusing on material design toward electronic devices are crucial. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Toward Realistic Failure Evaluations for Concrete Buttress Dams

    Författare :Jonas Enzell; Anders Ansell; Erik Nordström; Andreas Sjölander; Richard Malm; Leif Lia; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; concrete dams; buttress dams; stability analysis; dam failure behavior; physical model tests; FEM; betongdammar; lamelldammar; stabilitetsanalys; dammbrott; fysiska modellförsök; FEM; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Sammanfattning : Concrete dams, complex structures supporting massive loads, have traditionally been assessed using simplified 2D analytical stability analyses based on the rigid body assumption. Previous studies have shown that 3D behavior, such as the interaction between the monoliths and the valley's geology, can greatly impact the load-bearing capacity of gravity dams but remains largely unexplored in buttress dams. 3. 33. Self-harm - hovering between hope and despair : experiences and interactions in a health care context

    Författare :Britt-Marie Lindgren; Ulla Hällgren Graneheim; Sture Åström; Agneta Berg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; discursive psychology; experiences; hope; hopelessness; interactions; narratives; phenomenological hermeneutics; psychiatric nursing; qualitative content analysis; self-harm; berättelser; diskurspsykologi; fenomenologisk hermeneutik; hopp; hopplöshet; interaktion; kvalitativ innehållsanalys; psykiatrisk omvårdnad; självskada; upplevelser; omvårdnadsforskning med medicinsk inriktning; Caring Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background The definition of self-harm used in this project is repeated, impulsive behaviour causing tissue damage, yet not intended as a suicide attempt. Instead of wishing to die, the person who self-harms wishes to be relieved from anxiety. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Complex Formation in the Extra Cellular Matrix- Structural Study of CTLD of Agrrecan, Tenascin-R and Chondroadherin

    Författare :Anna Pramhed; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aggrecan; ECM; fibulin; structure; tenascin; CHAD; chondroadherin; X-ray; crystallography; calcium; CTLD; C-type lectin; fibronectin; FnIII; LRR; epidermal growth factor; leucine-rich repeat; matrix; EGF; cbEGF;

    Sammanfattning : The cells of higher organisms exist in a complex protein network, the extracellular matrix (ECM), which has a wide variety of different components such as glycoproteins, proteoglycans and carbohydrates. As well as being the physical scaffold on which the cells are dependent for their positioning and mobility, the ECM exercises control over the cells, and changes in the matrix will affect the adhesion, proliferation and differentiation properties of these cells. 5. 35. Interaction between preterm infants and their parents : Studies of early interventions in neonatal care

    Författare :Charlotte Sahlén Helmer; Evalotte Mörelius; Ulrika Birberg Thornberg; Anneli Frostell; Thomas Abrahamsson; Renée Flacking; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background  Preterm birth negatively affects infant well-being and development. A well-functioning parent-infant interaction can mitigate the risk of preterm birth on infant development. LÄS MER
