    Sammanfattning : in 1999 the Swedish Parliament decided to provide economic compensation to victims of involuntary sterilization, and in 2012 a similar law was enacted to redress neglect and abuse in foster homes and orphanages. This study explores the dilemmas that arise with reparations for past injustices, focusing on the process leading up to the reparation laws. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The first of three parts in this study elaborates on international human rights law and drawing on the most essential international instruments and jurisprudence, the criteria constituting judicial independence are distilled as a framework for assessment.     Sammanfattning : Between the years 1898–1925 there was an intense debate in the Swedish Parliament concerning different legislative proposals on the right for conscientious objectors to be exempted from military service. In 1902 a royal ordinance gave the regimental commander an option to allow conscripts, who professed grave compunctions regarding military service, to perform other work within the regiment. LÄS MER
