  1. 31. Asymmetric Synthesis and Mechanistic Studies on Copper(I)-Catalyzed Substitution of Allylic Substrates

    Författare :Jakob Norinder; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Norbert Krause; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; copper; allylic substitution; ferrocene; DYKAT; cross-coupling; homo-coupling; DFT; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the copper-catalyzed substitution of allylic substrates.In the first part of this thesis, the synthesis of a series of metallocenethiolates is described. The thiolates were examined as ligands in the enantioselective copper(I)-catalyzed γ-substitution of allylic acetates. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Structure and Dynamics of the Copper-binding Octapeptide Region in the Human Prion Protein

    Författare :Eva-Stina Riihimäki; Lars Kloo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; prion protein; copper; molecular dynamics simulation; solvation model; metal ions; coordination; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The copper-binding ability of the prion protein may be closely connected to its function. Identifying the exact function of the prion protein can clarify the underlying mechanism in prion diseases. In this work, the copper-binding octapeptide region in the human prion protein has been studied. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Copper in Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical-Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU)

    Författare :Mehdi Arjmand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; chemical-looping combustion CLC ; chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling CLOU ; copper; CO2-capture; kinetic; oxygen carrier;

    Sammanfattning : The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) and chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) processes are attractive solutions for efficient combustion with inherent separation of carbon dioxide. These processes use a metal oxide as an oxygen carrier to transfer oxygen from an air to a fuel reactor where the fuel, or gasification products of the fuel, reacts with the oxygen carrier. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Quantitative in situ analysis of initial atmospheric corrosion of copper induced by carboxylic acids

    Författare :Harveth Gil; Christofer Leygraf; Mark Rutland; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atmospheric corrosion; carboxylic acids; copper; in situ; IRAS; QCM; coulometric reduction.; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction of carboxylic acids with copper is a phenomenon found both outdoors and, more commonly, indoors. The influence on copper of some carboxylic acids (formic, acetic, propionic, and butyric) have so far been studied at concentrations levels at least three or four orders of magnitude higher than actual indoor conditions (< 20 ppb, volume parts per billion), and with only limited emphasis on any mechanistic approach. Sammanfattning : This work focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application projections of low-coordinated heavy pnictogen-containing (described by the generic letter E, hence E=C) phosphaalkenes (P=C) and arsaalkenes (As=C), with emphasis on the E=C group motifs. The work aims to understand their functional and modular character, reactivity, and potential applications by stabilizing, isolating, and characterizing these species in low-coordination environments.
