  1. 1. Folding and interaction studies of subunits in protein complexes

    Författare :Ximena Aguilar; Stefan Björklund; Alexis Verger; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Macromolecular crowding; cpn10; Mediator; Med25; Dreb2a; VP16; conformational changes; NMR; ITC.; biokemi; Biochemistry; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins function as worker molecules in the cell and their natural environment is crowded. How they fold in a cell-like environment and how they recognize their interacting partners in such conditions, are questions that underlie the work of this thesis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A study of the molecular pathways of wood formation using peptide mass spectrometry

    Författare :Robert Nilsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Wood consists essentially of secondary plant cell walls, composed of a cellulose and hemicellulose network impregnated with lignin. It is formed via the development of derivatives of a thin layer of cells (the vascular cambium) into xylem cells through cell division, expansion, secondary wall formation, lignification and, finally, programmed cell death. 3. 3. Functional studies of Mediator in Arabidopsis thaliana and Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    Författare :Nils Elfving; Stefan Björklund; Jesper Svejstrup; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Transcriptional regulation; chromatin; stress; Pol II; mediator; DREB2A; ZFHD1; MYB-like; Msn2; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Mediator has been shown to be essential for regulation of RNA Polymerase II mediated transcription. Mediator functions as an interface between the general transcriptional machinery and a multitude of DNA binding transcriptional regulators, although the molecular mechanism for the process is elusive.
