21. A high-speed stopped flow laser light scattering apparatus and its application in a study of conformational changes in bovine serum albumin
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
22. Conformational Entropy and Protein Flexibility in Drug Design Studied by NMR Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Proteins are complex molecules, present in all of the vital functions of life. The function of a protein is regulated by interactions between protein and other molecules. Drug design in pharmaceutical science aims to regulate the function of a protein by the design of synthesized molecules that binds to a protein with high affinity. LÄS MER
23. Conformational Dynamics of Rhodopsins Visualized by Time-resolved Wide Angle X-ray Scattering
Sammanfattning : Rhodopsins are a family of light-sensitive proteins found in the cellular membranes of a wide range of living organisms. These membrane proteins share a common molecular architecture and are able to use light energy to perform a variety of different biological functions. LÄS MER
24. Fighting microbial infections with force fields: Evaluating conformational ensembles of intrinsically disordered proteins
Sammanfattning : The main goal of this compilation thesis has been to investigate the conformational ensemble of the intrinsically disordered protein (IDP) histatin 5 by using a mixture of experimental and computational techniques including, but not limited to, small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, atomistic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and coarse-grained Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. Histatin 5 is a peptide of particular interest for two reasons. LÄS MER
25. Ultrafast Structural Changes in a Bacterial Photosynthetic Reaction Center probed with XFEL Radiation
Sammanfattning : Photosynthesis is the process by which plants and many species of bacteria convert energy from sunlight into chemical energy used to power their metabolism. As these plants and bacteria are eaten, the chemical energy moves up the food chain and thus photosynthesis provides fuel for almost all life on Earth. LÄS MER
