    Sammanfattning : Using textiles as clues, it is shown that, like in the rest of Scandinavia, there is a legible societal shift in favour of a new Christian organization as early as around year 1000 even in the central parts of what is now Sweden, including the, according to Adam of Bremen, “pagan” Mälar valley. During a period of at least a hundred and fifty years, the Mälar valley with Birka in the centre had enjoyed eastern trade, which is reflected in the rich finds of oriental textile fragments in the Birka graves.     Sammanfattning : Cold weather garments are necessary for people who are exposed to cold environments (below -5 °C). The weight and bulkiness of such a cold weather clothing ensemble may limit human activity and reduce the productivity.     Sammanfattning : Intermediation is a central concept in the marketing channel literature where it is used for analyzing how specific firms, intermediaries, connect producers and users. It is argued that intermediation is primarily about increasing transaction efficiency when intermediaries undertake functions for closing the gap between producer stocks and consumer assortments, thus bridging discrepancies in time and place between supply and demand.
