16. Towards more sustainable approaches for protecting surfaces against wear
Sammanfattning : WC-Co coatings, with and without chromium additives, are widely used in the industry for severe tribological applications. However, concerns about cobalt supply and its environmental and health impacts have led industries to explore sustainable binder alternatives. LÄS MER
17. Life Cycle Assessment of Asphalt Pavements including the Feedstock Energy and Asphalt Additives
Sammanfattning : Roads are assets to the society and an integral component in the development of a nation’s infrastructure. To build and maintain roads; considerable amounts of materials are required which consume quite an amount of electrical and thermal energy for production, processing and laying. LÄS MER
18. Mechanisms of phagocytosis resistance in Streptococcus pyogenes
Sammanfattning : A distinguishing feature of Streptococcus pyogenes (GAS) is their ability to resist phagocytosis in whole human blood in the absence of type-specific antibodies, a property that is dependent on the expression of the surface associated M proteins. A common characteristic of M proteins is their interaction with a variety of host proteins including the complement regulatory protein factor H (FH) and fibrinogen that plays a key role in coagulation. 19. Development of Flourescence-based Immunosensors for Continous Carbohydrate Monotoring : Applications for Maltose and Glucose
Sammanfattning : Weak affinity interaction of monoclonal antibodies and carbohydrate antigens can be detected and quantified by alterations in the antibodies' intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence. These weak/transient binding events have been monitored by total internal reflection fluorescence (TlRF) by facilitating the change in intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence. LÄS MER
20. Mechanical properties of excavated sulfur rich soil stabilized with cement - A laboratory and field experiment
Sammanfattning : Sulfide soils are silty soils, often found in saturated conditions, under the groundwater level. Characteristics of these soils, including particle size distribution and consistency limits along with chemical composition and environmental properties, cause excavation to be necessary for construction purposes.
