  1. 1. Coxsackievirus B3 Infection and Host Defence Responses Change the Metabolism of PBDE

    Författare :Magnus Lundgren; Nils-Gunnar Ilbäck; Hans Tjälve; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coxsackievirus; environmental pollutants; PBDE; cytokines; chemokines; metabolism; infection; tissue distribution; toxicology; virology; immunology; Toxicology; Toxikologi; Virology; Virologi; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : It has been suggested that the rising amounts of chemicals in the environment may affect host resistance and increase susceptibility to infections. Studies have also shown that infections can change the toxicity of pollutants. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The quest for new improved adenovirus gene therapy vectors against glioma tumours

    Författare :Johan Skog; Göran Wadell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gene therapy; virology; adenovirus; glioma; glioblastoma; Genterapi; virologi; adenovirus; gliom; glioblastom; Virology; Virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Gene therapy has received much attention the last decade as a method to correct a number of disorders arising from a defective gene. Gene therapy can be defined as the introduction of a functional genetic element into a cell for a therapeutic purpose. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulation of Adenoviral Gene Expression by the L4-33K and L4-22K Proteins

    Författare :Ellenor Backström; Göran Akusjärvi; Francoise Raffalli-Mathieu; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Virology; Virologi; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : The splicing pattern during an adenovirus infection is shifted at the late phase towards using weaker splice sites, splicing out larger introns. Splicing of weak 3´ splice sites usually requires recognition of the 3´AG dinucleotide before the first catalytic step of splicing. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), originally described as carcinoids, represent a rare and heterogeneous group of neoplasms associated with intensive secretion of hormones, bioactive peptides and amines. Most of the patients are diagnosed at a late stage of disease, often with liver metastases. LÄS MER
