1. Development of analytical methods for the determination of the small molecule component of complex biological systems
Sammanfattning : The research field of untargeted metabolomics aims to determine the relative abundance of all small metabolites in a biological system in order to find biomarkers or make biological inference with regards to the internal or external stimuli. This is no trivial aim, as the small metabolites are both vast in numbers and extremely diverse in their chemical properties. LÄS MER
2. Advances in analytical methodologies for studies of the platinum metallome in malignant cells exposed to cisplatin
Sammanfattning : The scientific progress about the important chemotherapeutic drug substance cisplatin (CDDP) and its function has often been rendered by data difficult to interpret, and still many questions about its mode of action remains to be clarified by the scientific community. However, studies of CDDP possess a high complexity due to; i) low intracellular concentration, ii) many potential biomolecule targets, iii) poor or unknown stability of the intact drug and its biomolecule adducts and iv) complex and varying sample matrices. 3. Chemoinformetics for green chemistry
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development of quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSPR) models for physicochemical properties, e.g., vapor pressure and partitioning coefficients. Such models can be used to estimate environmental distribution and transformation of the pollutants or to characterize solvents properties. LÄS MER
4. Colloidal/Solid Phase Extraction (C/S PE) Methods Based on Hydrogel Nanoparticles, Titanium dioxide microparticles and Empore Membranes Applied to Biological and Environmental Matrices
Sammanfattning : The aim of the work described in this thesis was to create and develop novel technologies in order to overcome barriers and hurdles that analytical chemistry faces focusing on sample extraction. In paper I dye containing amine groups (e.g. LÄS MER
