1. Galactic Structure Revealed by Space Astrometry
Sammanfattning : This work demonstrates how the structure of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, can be unveiled with the use of space astrometry. It consists of two parts, of which the first is a brief introduction to the fields of Galactic structure, covering the Galaxy's stellar constituents, how the Galaxy was formed and how it has evolved over time, both chemically and kinematically. 2. Ephrins off the beaten path
Sammanfattning : The Orchestration of cell-cell interactions is crucial to the developing embryo and the adult organism. Intercellular communication is to a large extent controlled by signalling events downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). Ligands for RTKs are often soluble and confer long distance information to the receptor expressing cell. LÄS MER
3. A Study of Propane and Propene Ammoxidation over the Mo-V-Nb-Te-Oxide System
Sammanfattning : The ammoxidation of propane is commonly regarded as being the future route for producing acrylonitrile, and the Mo-V-Nb-Te-oxide system studied here has thus far been seen as the most promising candidate for achieving this. Yields of up to 62% have been presented very elegantly in the patent literature. LÄS MER
4. Dizziness and fear of falling: A behavioural and physiological approach to Phobic Postural Vertigo
Sammanfattning : Dizziness is a common problem and it often co-exists with anxiety. Level of anxiety is the best predictor of handicap for dizzy patients. There is diagnostic controversy and few treatment programs for such patients. LÄS MER
5. Gain-of-function induced defects by PITX2 in eye and limb development
Sammanfattning : My research has been focused on eye and limb development with regard to the transcription factor PITX2. In the first paper we present an Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome PITX2 gain-of-function eye mouse model. Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome is a rare autosomal disorder affecting the development of eyes, teeth and abdomen. LÄS MER
