  1. 26. Modulation of B cell access to antigen by passively administered antibodies : an explanation for antibody feedback regulation?

    Författare :Hui Xu; Birgitta Heyman; Helena Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgG; IgG3; IgE; suppression; enhancement; epitope masking; antigen transport; antigen presentation; follicular B cells; marginal zone B cells; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody responses can be up- or down-regulated by passive administration of specific antibody together with antigen. Depending on the structure of the antigen and the antibody isotype, responses can be completely suppressed or enhanced up to a 1000-fold of what is seen in animals immunized with antigen alone. 2. 27. CD19-targeting CAR T Cells for Treatment of B Cell Malignancies : From Bench to Bedside

    Författare :Hannah Karlsson; Angelica Loskog; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chimeric antigen receptors; CAR T cells; T cell therapy; immunotherapy; CD19; Bcl-2 family inhibitors; B cell malignancies; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Immunotherapy for cancer is a young research field progressing at high speed. The first chimera of an antibody and a signaling chain was designed by Zelig Eshhar and was later further developed to enhance existing T cell therapy by combining a single-chain fragment of an antibody with the CD3 zeta chain of the TCR complex. 3. 28. Immunological and functional properties of a non-repeat region in Plasmodium falciparum antigen Pf155/RESA

    Författare :Siddique Abu Bakar; Lars Hvid; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Plasmodium falciparum malaria is one of the most prevalent of all the great insect-borne diseases causing high morbidity and mortality in humans. As conventional anti-malarial treatment is becoming increasingly inefficient, alternative approaches to combat the parasite, like vaccine development, are of high priority. LÄS MER

  4. 29. The mast cell transcriptome and the evolution of granule proteins and Fc receptors

    Författare :Srinivas Akula; Lars Hellman; Sandra Kleinau; Arne Egesten; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mast cell; Fc receptors; Granule serine protease; Evolution and transcriptome.; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Protection against disease-causing pathogens, known as immunity, involves numerous cells organs, tissues and their products. To able to understand the biology of immune cells (hematopoietic cells) and their role in an immune system, we have used several different methods, including transcriptome analyses, bioinformatics, production of recombinant proteins and analyses of some of them, focusing on the granule proteases by substrate phage display. 5. 30. The Impact of Tryptase and Epigenetic Mechanisms on Mast Cells

    Författare :Sultan Alanazi; Gunnar Pejler; Constantin Urban; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mast cells; mastocytosis; tryptase; histone; DNA; methylation; neutrophil extracellular traps; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells have a large influence on multiple immune-mediated responses, including allergic conditions, and they have been implicated in various diseases such as arthritis and cancer. Mastocytosis is characterized by abnormal mast cell proliferation induced by mutations in KIT, the stem cell factor (SCF) receptor. LÄS MER
