Sammanfattning : This thesis explores immigrant students’ opportunities to learn mathematics. The research is concerned with issues of social justice and adopts a socio-political approach. Immigrant students are often described as students who do poorly in school because they lack “Swedishness” and have insufficient Swedish language skills. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Airway remodeling is a contributing cause to the pathological structural changes, such as increased cell proliferation, observed in asthma. Platelets have been found in autopsy lungmaterial obtained from asthmatic patients and are well known to induce proliferation in vitro of a variety of cells. LÄS MER

Genom att fokusera på studenters utbildningsval och motiv utifrån deras bakgrunder och erfarenheter i relation till Växjö universitets olika typer av utbildningar, vill jag studera förutsättningar för formningen av lärosätets utbildningsmiljö samt konsekvenser för studenternas vidare öden. Sammanfattning : Essay I: Does increased government transparency make bureaucracies more meritocratic? I study the impact of politician disclosure requirements on the assignment of bureaucrats to public posts. I collect detailed information on bureaucrats' qualifications and construct a novel measure of bureaucratic mismatch—an index measuring the extent to which a bureaucrat is under- or overqualified to perform a specific task.
