  1. 1. Fishy behavior : persistent effects of early-life exposure to 17α-ethinylestradiol

    Författare :Kristina Volkova; Inger Porsch Hällström; Svante Winberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Endocrine disruptors; anxiety; stress behavior; transgenerational effects; 17α-ethinylestradiol; developmental exposure; social behavior; fish; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : The synthetic estrogen 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2) is an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) of concern due to its persistent nature and widespread presence in the aquatic environment. In mammals, effects of developmental EDC exposure on reproduction and behavior not only persist to adulthood after discontinued exposure, but are also inherited by several consecutive unexposed generations. 2. 2. Adolescent behavior : Links to early-life stress and alcohol in male and female rats

    Författare :Stina Lundberg; Erika Roman; Ingrid Nylander; Heidi MB Lesscher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescence; alcohol exposure; behavior; corticosterone; dynorphin; early life; endogenous opioid peptides; Met-enkephalin-Arg6Phe7 MEAP ; individual differences; multivariate concentric square field MCSF ; phenotyping; radioimmunoassay; selective breeding for alcohol consumption; voluntary alcohol intake; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Adolescence is an important developmental phase with large changes in behavior, physiology and neurobiology, which transform an individual from immature child to independent adult. Due to these changes, adolescence is a sensitive period for exposure to environmental factors such as stress and drug exposure; it is also a common age of onset for alcohol consumption as well as several psychiatric disorders. 3. 3. Overlapping Neural Substrates of Alcohol- and Anxiety-Related Behavior in the Rat

    Författare :Riccardo Barchiesi; Estelle Barbier; Markus Heilig; Annika Thorsell; Andrew Holmes; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alcohol use disorder; Anxiety disorder; Behavior; Rat; Prelimbic cortex; Amygdala; Basolateral amygdala; Stress; Epigenetics; Syt1; Prdm2; Avp; Conditioned fear; Social defeat stress; Witness stress; Susceptibility; Resilience;

    Sammanfattning : Alcohol use is a leading cause of death and disease worldwide. A large part of this disease burden is associated with alcohol use disorder (AUD), a diagnostic category characterized by excessive use in spite of negative consequences ("compulsive use"), a loss of control over intake, and choice of alcohol over natural rewards. 4. 4. Psychophysiological reactions to experimental stress : relations to pain sensitivity, position sense and stress perception

    Författare :Marina Heiden; Eugene Lyskov; Tohr Nilsson; Ulf Lundberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :public health; autonomic activity; cognitive-behavioral training; muscle oxygenation; physical activity; position sense; pressure-pain thresholds; sick leave; stress; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Stress and monotonous work contribute substantially to the development of chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Yet, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the process, particularly the involvement of autonomic regulation, remain unclear. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Movement behavior and mental health in office workers : Associations and intervention effects

    Författare :Lisa-Marie Larisch; Victoria Blom; Lena Kallings; Maria Hagströmer; Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; []

    Sammanfattning : Mental disorders pose a significant global health challenge. To effectively address this challenge, mental health promotion must be included in various sectors, including workplaces. Various strategies for promoting mental health in the workplace have been suggested, including interventions aimed at improving movement behavior, i.e. LÄS MER
