  1. 1. Fishy behavior persistent effects of early-life exposure to 17α-ethinylestradiol

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro university

    Författare :Kristina Volkova; Örebro universitet.; Södertörns högskola.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Biologi; Endocrine disruptors; anxiety; stress behavior; transgenerational effects; 17α-ethinylestradiol; developmental exposure; social behavior; fish;

    Sammanfattning : The synthetic estrogen 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2) is an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) of concern due to its persistent nature and widespread presence in the aquatic environment. In mammals, effects of developmental EDC exposure on reproduction and behavior not only persist to adulthood after discontinued exposure, but are also inherited by several consecutive unexposed generations. 2. 2. Psychophysiological reactions to experimental stress relations to pain sensitivity, position sense and stress perception

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro university

    Författare :Marina Heiden; Högskolan i Gävle.; Umeå universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :public health; autonomic activity; cognitive-behavioral training; muscle oxygenation; physical activity; position sense; pressure-pain thresholds; sick leave; stress; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Stress and monotonous work contribute substantially to the development of chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Yet, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the process, particularly the involvement of autonomic regulation, remain unclear. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Domestication and early experiences in chickens Behavior, stress and gene expression

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Pia Katrine Løtvedt; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2017]

    Sammanfattning : A number of animal species have undergone domestication, the process of becoming adapted to living in captivity and in proximity to humans. Common for these species is that they have all developed certain traits, including changes to coat color, body size and level of fearfulness. This has been termed the domestic phenotype. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Surgical Stress in Rats The Impact of Buprenorphine on Postoperative Recovery

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Renée Sundbom; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgical stress; Corticosterone; Buprenorphine; Analgesia; Rats.; Försöksdjursvetenskap - Jämförande medicin; Comparative Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : During surgery, both anesthesia and tissue damage cause physiological stress responses in the body. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis is activated with increased levels of glucocorticoids. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mechanical Behavior of Tailings Laboratory Tests from a Swedish Tailings Dam

    Detta är en avhandling från Luleå : Luleå University of Technology

    Författare :Riaz Bhanbhro; Luleå tekniska universitet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tailings dams; Tailings; Mechanical Behavior; Oedometer; Direct Shear; Triaxial; Shear strength; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Tailings is leftover material from mining industry and is produced in huge quantities approximately 70-99% of the ore production.  Tailings material is stored as impoundments by constructing tailings dams which are often constructed with tailings material itself. LÄS MER
