  1. 1. Nanomagnetic and Micromagnetic Properties of Rocks Minerals and Sulphide Oxidation Products

    Författare :Erik Eneroth; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical geography; Geology; multi-domain; single-domain; ilmenite; magnetite; maghemite; hematite; pyrite; marcasite; fysisk geografi; Geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic and related properties of rocks and products from oxidation of sulphide minerals have been investigated with magnetisation measurements (rocks and oxidation products), magnetic force microscopy (rocks), scanning electron microscopy (rocks and oxidation products), transmission electron microscopy (oxidation products), Mössbauer spectroscopy (oxidation products) and powder X-ray diffraction (oxidation products). The investigations have shown the following: During thermal oxidation of pyrite (cubic FeS2) and marcasite (orthorombic FeS2) in air, nano-crystals of a-Fe2O3 and g-Fe2O3 were formed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Factors influencing transferrin receptor-mediated brain delivery : Evaluating preclinical antibody-based proteins for PET imaging in Alzheimer’s disease

    Författare :Rebecca Faresjö Melander; Stina Syvänen; Dag Sehlin; Robert Thorne; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; brain delivery; bispecific antibody; transferrin receptor; Alzheimer s Disease; amyloid-beta; aging; single domain antibody; PET; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics; Neurology; Neurologi; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody-based proteins targeting amyloid-beta (Aβ) could be used as radioligands in positron emission tomography (PET) to study Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathology in the living brain. The prospective advantages of antibody-based PET are to detect pathology earlier, with higher sensitivity, and to evaluate treatment effects of emerging immunotherapies against Aβ. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Domain rearrangement and creation in protein evolution

    Författare :Diana Ekman; Arne Elofsson; Christine Orengo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins are composed of domains, recurrent protein fragments with distinct structure, function and evolutionary history. Some domains exist only as single domain proteins, however, a majority of them are also combined with other domains. LÄS MER

  4. 4. PNA and affinity protein tools for selective tumor targeting of radiopharmaceuticals

    Författare :Hanna Tano; Amelie Eriksson Karlström; Per-Åke Nygren; Dario Neri; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cancer therapy; targeted radionuclide therapy; affinity proteins; Affibody molecules; CD38; GRPR; HER2; nanobody; peptide; PNA; RM26; pretargeting; Cancerterapi; radionuklid terapi; affinitetsproteiner; affibody molekyler; CD38; GRPR; HER2; nanobody; peptid; PNA; RM26; pretargeting; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Targeted radiotherapy of cancer intends to selectively deliver cytotoxic radionuclides to tumor cells. Affinity proteins of various kinds are explored for this task, and depending on the affinity protein used, different challenges arise. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The character of magnetic records of deformed soft sediments with emphasis on liquefaction structures

    Författare :Guangyu Sun; Nils Axel Mörner; Don Tarling; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magnetism; sediments; deformation; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the characteristics of magnetic records in deformed soft sediments during postglacial time in Sweden are studied. Magnetic records refer in this study to magnetic remanence (NRM and ChRM) and susceptibility, including its anisotropy (AMS). LÄS MER
