    Sammanfattning : Adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) is widely used as an oncolytic agent for cancer therapy. However, its infectivity is highly dependent on the expression level of coxsackievirus-adenovirus receptor (CAR) on the surface of tumor cells. LÄS MER

  2. 2. From Genes to Therapy : Modeling and Novel Therapeutic Strategies for Brain Tumors

    Författare :Matko Čančer; Fredrik Swartling; Lene Uhrbom; Suzanne J. Baker; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; Medulloblastoma; Glioblastoma; MYCN; PDGF; Cancer Therapy; BET bromodomains; Temozolomide; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant pediatric brain tumor and is molecularly divided into four subgroups – WNT, SHH, Group 3 and Group 4. Two thirds of medulloblastoma patients survive, but survivors often suffer from severe, lifelong side-effects. The MYCN oncogene is deregulated in many medulloblastoma patients. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the evaluation of biomarkers for radio-immunodiagnostics and radio-immunotherapy and on radiosensitization strategies after HSP90 inhibition, as a step towards more personalized cancer medicine. There is a need to develop new tracers that target cancer-specific biomarkers to improve diagnostic imaging, as well as to combine treatment strategies to potentiate synergistic effects. LÄS MER
