1. Politics and alignments in children's play dialogue : Play arenas and participation
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about 6- and 8-year-old children's play dialogues, and its theoretical starting point is discourse analysis, on the one hand, and theories on play, on the other hand. The empirical basis is five studies on children's elicited and naturalistic play. All studies concern politics and relational alignments. LÄS MER
2. Role of Bone Morphogenetic Proteins for Catecholaminergic Neurons in Vivo : Use of the Tyrosine Hydroxylase Locus for Cell-Specific inactivation of Signal Transduction
Sammanfattning : Members of the Transforming Growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily and its subclass Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMP) play important roles for nervous system development. In order to study the BMP role for catecholaminergic neurons in vivo, we generated three knock-in mice, expressing the transgenes specifically in the targeting cells. LÄS MER
3. Modeling receptor induced signaling in MSNs : Interaction between molecules involved in striatal synaptic plasticity
Sammanfattning : Basal Ganglia are evolutionarily conserved brain nuclei involved in several physiologically important animal behaviors like motor control and reward learning. Striatum, which is the input nuclei of basal ganglia, integrates inputs from several neurons, like cortical and thalamic glutamatergic input and local GABAergic inputs. LÄS MER
4. Generation of Dopaminergic Neurons from Human Embryonic Stem Cells
Sammanfattning : Since the first successful derivation of human embryonic stem cells (hESC), rapid progress has been attained in the development of strategies in differentiation of these cells into various neural lineages, with the fundamental objective of using these cells for replacement and repair of damaged neuronal circuits in the central nervous system (CNS). Of particular interest are midbrain dopaminergic (mDA) neurons, which play a central role in regulation of voluntary movement. LÄS MER
5. Play Occupations in Digital Spaces: Children’s Experiences Throughout Childhood
Sammanfattning : Play is enshrined as a right for all children and is characterised by its autotelic and intrinsic nature. As such, play is recognised as the primary occupation of children and best understood in terms of the multiple meanings it holds for individuals. LÄS MER
