  1. 1. Stone Age Companions: Humans and animals in hunter-gatherer burials in north-eastern Europe

    Författare :Aija Macane; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; human–animal relationships; relational ontologies; companionship perspective; burial archaeology; mortuary practices; zooarchaeology; hunter-gatherers; Stone Age; Mesolithic; Neolithic; north-eastern Europe; southern Sweden; Latvia; central European Russia;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the relationships between humans and animals in their mutual environment and how these relationships were expressed in the burial practices of northern foragers. The empirical research material consists of animal remains, particularly animal tooth pendants, deposited in graves at Zvejnieki (Latvia), Skateholm I and II (Sweden) and Sakhtysh II and IIa (Russia) cemeteries. 2. 2. Air Pollution Dependency on Climate Variability and Source Region : Past, Current and Future Air Pollution Scenarios over Europe

    Författare :Camilla Andersson; Hans-Christen Hansson; Christer Johansson; Joakim Langner; David Simpson; Peter Builtjes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acidification; Air Pollution; Climate Change; Europe; Numerical Model; Emission; Eutrophication; Key region; Nitrogen Dioxide; Particulate Matter; PM; Source region; Surface Ozone; Tropospheric Ozone; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this thesis were to investigate the dependency of European air pollution on climate variability and emission source region. Calculations with a chemistry transport model (CTM) were conducted to investigate the influence of climate variability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Aphanomyces root rot in pea : genomic insights into pathogen diversity and disease resistance

    Författare :Carol Kälin; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The cultivation of vining pea (Pisum sativum) faces significant challenges due to root rot, primarily caused by Aphanomyces euteiches, a soil-borne oomycete pathogen. Pea cultivars resistant to aphanomyces root rot (ARR) are currently lacking and common mitigation methods include crop rotation and avoidance of highly infested fields. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cambro-Ordovician microorganisms: acritarchs and endoliths

    Författare :Martin Stockfors; Malgorzata Vidal-Moczydlowska; John S. Peel; Kenneth John Dorning; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Cambrian; Ordovician; acritarch; endolith; Kolguev Island; North Greenland; Stratigraphy; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Organic-walled microfossils are abundant and taxonomically diverse in Cambrian-Ordovician strata; some are important for biostratigraphy and for the correlation of geological successions. New assemblages of Cambrian-Ordovician acritarchs from Kolguev Island, Arctic Russia and Middle Cambrian ichnofossils of endoliths from Peary Land, North Greenland are studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Geophysical vectoring of mineralized systems in northern Norrbotten

    Författare :Roshanak Vadoodi; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Maxim Smirnov; Behrooz Oskooi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Magnetotelluric; Electrical Conductivity; Potential Field; 3D Inversion; Mineralisation; Classification; Self-Organizing Map SOM ; Exploration Geophysics; Prospekteringsgeofysik;

    Sammanfattning : The Fennoscandian Shield as a part of a large Precambrian basement area is located in northern Europe and hosts economically important mineral deposits including base metals and precious metals. Regional geophysical data such as potential field and magnetotelluric data in combination with other geoscientific data contain information of importance for an understanding of the crustal and upper mantle structure.
