  1. 1. Air Pollution Dependency on Climate Variability and Source Region : Past, Current and Future Air Pollution Scenarios over Europe

    Författare :Camilla Andersson; Hans-Christen Hansson; Christer Johansson; Joakim Langner; David Simpson; Peter Builtjes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acidification; Air Pollution; Climate Change; Europe; Numerical Model; Emission; Eutrophication; Key region; Nitrogen Dioxide; Particulate Matter; PM; Source region; Surface Ozone; Tropospheric Ozone; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this thesis were to investigate the dependency of European air pollution on climate variability and emission source region. Calculations with a chemistry transport model (CTM) were conducted to investigate the influence of climate variability. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Att gestalta en region : Källornas strategier och mediernas föreställningar om Öresund

    Författare :Jesper Falkheimer; Institutionen för strategisk kommunikation; []

    Sammanfattning : The Öresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden was inaugurated in the year 2000, connecting the city of Malmö and the Danish capital Copenhagen. The bridge was an important move towards the visionary realisation of a transnational Öresund Region. In this dissertation the communicative aspects of the regional process are put in focus. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sources of dioxins and other POPs to the marine environment : Identification and apportionment using pattern analysis and receptor modeling

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; air-water gas exchange; chiral; congener pattern; enantiomer; enantiomeric fraction; fugacity; HCH; hexachlorocyclohexane; homologue profile; indicator congener; isomer pattern; pattern analysis; PCA; PCB; PCDD F; PMF; polychlorinated dibenzofuran; polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin; polychlorinated biphenyl; positive matrix factorization; principal component analysis; receptor modeling; source apportioning; source; source tracing; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Persistent organic compounds; Persistenta organiska föreningar;

    Sammanfattning : In the studies underlying this thesis, various source tracing techniques were applied to environmental samples from the Baltic region. Comprehensive sampling and analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) in surface sediments in Swedish coastal and offshore areas resulted in a unique data set for this region. 4. 4. Phthalocyanine interfaces : the monolayer region

    Författare :Pål Palmgren; Mats Göthelid; Mats Fahlman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; phthalocyanine; III-V semiconductor; transition metal oxides; adsorption; self-assembly; Material physics with surface physics; Materialfysik med ytfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Organic molecules adsorbed on inorganic substrates are the topics of interest in this thesis. Interfaces of this kind are found in dye sensitized solar cells that convert solar energy to electricity, a promising environmentally friendly energy source which might provide a route to replace fossil fuels. 5. 5. Impacts of climate change on surface hydrology in the source region of the Yellow River

    Författare :Feifei Yuan; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Source region of the Yellow River; climate change; summer precipitation; ENSO; teleconnection pattern; sea surface temperature; Xinanjiang model; Rainfall-Runoff process;

    Sammanfattning : The source region of the Yellow River contributes about 35% of the total water yield in the Yellow River basin playing an important role for meeting the downstream water resources requirements. The declining water availability caused by climate change in the source region of the Yellow River is expected to have severe repercussions for the 110 million basin inhabitants in terms of water resources affecting agricultural productivity, municipal, and industrial water supply.
