  1. 1. The leukocyte complexity and mutational landscape of periampullary adenocarcinoma. Morphology matters

    Författare :Sebastian Lundgren; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; periampullary adenocarcinoma; pancreatic cancer; immune microenviroment; prognosis; macrophages; natural killer cells; natural killer T cells; T cells; B cells;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Periampullary adenocarcinomas are a heterogenous group of tumours with poor prognosis that hasnot improved considerably the last decades. Tumour morphology, i.e. intestinal type (I-type) or pancreatobiliarytype (PB-type), has been demonstrated to be a more relevant prognostic factor than anatomical origin. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dendritic cells in cancer immunotherapy

    Författare :Karin Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :vaccines; dendritic cells; αDC1; PGE2DC; natural killer cells; T cells;

    Sammanfattning : Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in the initiation and regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses and have increasingly been applied as vaccines for cancer patients. Ex vivo generation and antigen loading of monocyte-derived DCs allows a controlled maturation, with the aim of imprinting different DC functions that are essential for their subsequent induction of a T cell-mediated anti-tumor response. 3. 3. Mechanisms regulating Natural Killer Cell Cytotoxicity

    Författare :Hanna van Ooijen; Björn Önfelt; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Karolin Guldevall; Morgan Huse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Natural Killer cell; Live-cell microscopy; Single cell; 3D; Microwell;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last 50 years, cancer survival rates have steadily improved thanks to earlier detection and novel treatment regimens. For example, drugs that act on the immune system, so-called immunotherapy, have drastically increased the prospect of survival for patients suffering from some of the most aggressive cancer types including advanced malignant melanoma. 4. 4. Immunoregulation in an experimental model of allergic asthma

    Författare :Magnus Korsgren; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; allergic asthma; macrophage migration inhibitory factor; eosinophils; gd T cells; NK1.1 T cells; natural killer cells; immunoglobulins; B cells; innate immunity; allergic airway inflammation; immediate hypersensitivity; Physiology; Fysiologi; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : In allergic asthma the immune response to antigen is inappropriate, leading to an inflammatory process in the respiratory mucosa. To further elucidate immunological mechanisms involved in the development of such inflammation, control mice and mice deficient in selected cell types or proteins, were used in experimental models of allergic asthma and anaphylaxis. 5. 5. T Cells and NK Cells in Coronary Artery Disease : Longitudinal and methodological studies in humans

    Författare :Karin Backteman; Jan Ernerudh; Lena Jonasson; Joachim Lundahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death worldwide and most often due to atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory process that involves the arteries, inclouding those that supply blood to the heart muscle. LÄS MER
