  1. 1. Immunoregulation in an experimental model of allergic asthma

    Författare :Magnus Korsgren; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; allergic asthma; macrophage migration inhibitory factor; eosinophils; gd T cells; NK1.1 T cells; natural killer cells; immunoglobulins; B cells; innate immunity; allergic airway inflammation; immediate hypersensitivity; Physiology; Fysiologi; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : In allergic asthma the immune response to antigen is inappropriate, leading to an inflammatory process in the respiratory mucosa. To further elucidate immunological mechanisms involved in the development of such inflammation, control mice and mice deficient in selected cell types or proteins, were used in experimental models of allergic asthma and anaphylaxis. 2. 2. Acquisition and function of NK cell-associated molecules on T cells

    Författare :Erika Assarsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Natural killer cells; Natural Killer T cells; T cells; Receptors; Cytokines; Influenza A virus; Activation; Proliferation; Interactions;

    Sammanfattning : One challenge for multicellular organisms, including humans, is to cope with a broad variety of microorganisms and their rapid replication and alterations. To do this, both fast and specific defense mechanisms are needed that can control threatening infections. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulation of calcium flux by activating and inhibitory receptor crosstalk in NK cells

    Författare :Sridharan Ganesan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The birth of a new born child kicks off the immune system to be on call and to respond promptly to threats from the environment. Natural Killer cells, classified as a member of the innate lymphoid cell family, express various activating, inhibitory, adhesion and cytokine receptors as well as MHC class I molecules on their surfaces, by which they interact with surrounding cells and perform various immunological function. 4. 4. Cellular and molecular pathways in early stages of NK cell development

    Författare :Hojjatollah NozadCharoudeh; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Natural killer (NK) cells represent the third lymphoid lineage playing important role against viral infections and cancer. In contrast to B and T cell development where both cellular and regulatory pathways are well established, the development of NK cells from hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) is poorly understood. 5. 5. Immunoregulation in experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis

    Författare :Hua-Bing Wang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Myasthenia gravis (MG) derives its name from Latin and Greek words meaning, "grave muscle weakness". MG is a classical T cell dependent antibody-mediated autoimmune disease. LÄS MER
