1. Discerning the Receiver : A learning study with inexperienced writers aged 14-16
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the present study is to develop knowledge of Swedish students’ writing in English, and how teaching of a specific kind of writing can be designed and enacted. The study focuses on what the students need to discern in order to develop a more differentiated knowledge of how to adapt a message to an unknown receiver—in this case a message for a person at a hotel. 2. Zur Bedeutung des Vergleichs in Eichendorffs Erzählwerk : "...ihm war, als spiegelte sich wunderbar sein Leben wie ein Traum noch einmal wieder"
Sammanfattning : The present dissertation investigates similes and their importance in Eichendorff’s narrative work. The sources of the investigation consist of seven of Eichendorff’s narratives. Their 734 similes make up the corpus, which is presented in its entirety in the appendix. The context of the similes is partly included as well. LÄS MER
3. Mixers and Multifunctional MMICs for Millimeter-Wave Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats the design and characterization of different mixer and multifunctional monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) in GaAs pHEMT and mHEMT technologies. The MMICs operate at the V (50 – 75 GHz) and G (140 – 220 GHz) bands and several of them demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, level of integration, novel topologies, and/or novel functionality. 4. 60 GHz Mixer and Multifunctional MMICs in GaAs pHEMT and mHEMT technologies
Sammanfattning : In recent years, the 60 GHz band has gained increased academic and commercial interest mainly due to the relative large amount of license free and little used frequency spectrum located in vicinity of 60 GHz. The exact locations of these free frequency bands varies locally but the 5962 GHz band overlap around the world and is therefore a true world wide license free band. LÄS MER
5. GNSS and Massive MIMO : Spoofing, Jamming and Robust Receiver Design for Impulsive Noise
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we focus on vulnerabilities and robustness of two wireless communication technologies: global navigation satellite system (GNSS), a technology that provides position-velocity-time information, and massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO), a core cellular 5G technology. In particular, we investigate spoofing and jamming attacks to GNSS and massive MIMO, respectively, and the robust massive MIMO receiver against impulsive noises. LÄS MER
