  1. 1. Estimation of state and identification of complex modulus based on measurements om a bar traversed by waves

    Författare :Lars Hillström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Wave; extensional; flexural; bar; rod; beam; elastic; viscoelastic; complex modulus; non-parametric; parametric; standard deviation; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid Mechanics; hållfasthetslära;

    Sammanfattning : Estimation of state and identification of complex modulus based on measurements on non-uniform rods and beams have been studied theoretically and experimentally. Two principal cases were studied. In the first case, the material properties are fully known and the state at a section is to be estimated. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The metamorphic history of Naxos (central Cyclades, Greece) : Deciphering the Oligocene and Miocene exhumation events

    Författare :Alexandre Peillod; Uwe Ring; Alasdair Skelton; Arne Willner; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cycladic Blueschist Unit; exhumation; fluid flow; geothermobarometry; Hellenide orogen; Rb-Sr dating; subduction-zone metamorphism; Heat flow; Lower crust; extensional domain; Metamorphic core complex; Geology; geologi;

    Sammanfattning : High pressure, low temperature (HP-LT) rocks observed at the surface of the Earth are evidence ofpast subduction zones. Understanding the tectonics processes that control the exhumation of HP-LT metamorphic rocks in these subduction zones requires full comprehension of the pressure-temperature-time (P–T–t) cycle that the rocks experienced. 3. 3. Geological Evolution of the Supracrustal Palaeoproterozoic Hamrånge Group: A Svecofennian Case Study

    Författare :Erik Ogenhall; Håkan Sjöström; Hans Annersten; Markku Väisänen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hamrånge; Ljusdal; Hagsta Gneiss Zone; geochemistry; geochronology; thermobarometry; metamorphism; fold-thrust belt.; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis utilizes several geological methods to investigate the origin and evolution of the supracrustal rocks in the Palaeoproterozoic Hamrånge Group (HG) in the south-central Swedish Svecofennian. The first paper is based on whole-rock geochemistry to show the plate tectonic setting of volcanic rocks within the HG. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interaction of Segments along Rifts that Separate Continents and Ridges that Spread Ocean Floors

    Författare :Tatiana Tentler; Christopher Talbot; Olivier Dauteuil; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; extension; oceanic floor; rift; normal fault; segment; interaction; propagation; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The face of the Earth is constantly renewed by continental rifts that open and allow ridges to spread oceanic floor. Both types of these linear extensional structures are morphologically and structurally segmented. This thesis aims to provide insights into the interaction of such segments as they propagate and mature. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fuzzy Set Theory Applied to Make Medical Prognoses for Cancer Patients

    Författare :Hang Zettervall; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fuzzy set theory; the Mamdani fuzzy control system; the Sugeno controller; fuzzy c-means clustering analysis; point set approximation; linguistic models; the 2-tuple linguistic representations; the hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets;

    Sammanfattning : As we all know the classical set theory has a deep-rooted influence in the traditional mathematics. According to the two-valued logic, an element can belong to a set or cannot. In the former case, the element’s membership degree will be assigned to one, whereas in the latter case it takes the zero value. LÄS MER
