  1. 16. Assessing the health consequences of deficiencies in water distribution networks: a basis for future network management

    Författare :Victor Vinas; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; QMRA; risk management; distribution network; microbial risk; epidemiological studies;

    Sammanfattning : Drinking water distribution networks are susceptible to incidents that may contaminate the drinking water being served to the population. Five major risks that can impact negatively the health of consumers have been identified by a literature study: intrusion, cross-connections and backflows, unhygienic repairs or maintenance works, inadequate management of storage reservoirs and biofilms. 4. 19. Graded index sonic crystal noise barriers: An introduction to design and optimization

    Författare :Bart van der Aa; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shape optimal design; Broadband acoustic lens; Optimization; Outdoor sound propagation; Sonic crystal noise barrier; Graded index sonic crystal;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental noise pollution and its impact on human beings remains to be an important topic in acoustics. Conservative estimations of the World Health Organization have shown that traffic related noise alone causes a loss of approximately one million healthy life years, only within Western Europe.
