1. Sensorimotor function in chronic neck pain : objective assessments and a novel method for neck coordination exercise
Sammanfattning : Chronic neck pain is a widespread problem that causes individual suffering as well as large costs for the society. The knowledge about the pathophysiology is poor and therefore specific diagnosis and causal treatment are rare. LÄS MER
2. Development of functional asymmetries in young infants : A sensory-motor approach
Sammanfattning : Human functional laterality, typically involving a right-sided preference in most sensory-motor activities, is still a poorly understood issue. This is perhaps particularly true in terms of what underlying mechanisms that may govern lateral biases, as well as the developmental origins and course of events. LÄS MER
3. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity
Sammanfattning : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 4. Neural Control of Movement : Motor Neuron Subtypes, Proprioception and Recurrent Inhibition
Sammanfattning : Movement is central for life, and all animals depend on accurate regulation of movement for purposeful behavior. There is great diversity of movements, ranging between simple and vital breathing movements to minute and subtle movements of the face used to communicate emotions. LÄS MER
5. Motorik, koncentrationsförmåga och skolprestationer : en interventionsstudie i skolår 1-3
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to study effects of an extension of physical education/activity and motor training on motor skills, attention and cognition during a period of three years. Another aim is to develop a test, MUGI observationsschema, which could be useful in charting motor skills of school pupils. LÄS MER
