  1. 6. Studiesituationen för elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor

    Författare :Eva Pettersson; Inger Wistedt; Håkan Sollervall; Häggblom Lisen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gifted students; mathematics; mathematical abilities; talent development; social norms; socio-mathematical norms; teacher competence; case studies.; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematical Education; Matematikdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : The study aims to describe variation in the expression of students’ mathematical ability and the various ways in which their mathematical aptitude is acknowledged and supported by their teachers, parents and peers in a Swedish context. Ability is defined as a complex of various abilities each of which may be more or less pronounced in a given individual. LÄS MER

  2. 7. The meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics in student talk : Inclusion as a topic when students talk about learning and teaching in mathematics

    Författare :Helena Roos; Despina Potari; Hanna Palmér; Nùria Planas; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; inclusion in mathematics; discourse analysis; students meaning s ; Matematikens didaktik; Mathematics education; Mathematical Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to research and practice within the field of special education in mathematics with more knowledge about, and an understanding of, students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics education. Three research questions guide the study: What meaning(s) is/are ascribed, and how is inclusion used, in mathematics education research? What meaning(s) do the students ascribe to inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching? And what frames students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching?The first part of this study began with a systematic literature review on the notion of inclusion in mathematics education research, and the search resulted in 1,296 research studies. 3. 8. Grafisk och algebraisk representation : Gymnasieelevers förståelse av linjära funktioner

    Författare :Annika Pettersson; Igor Gachkov; Kerstin Pettersson; Lovisa Sumpter; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mathematics education; linear function; graphic representation; scale; concept image; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns upper secondary students’ understanding of algebraic and graphic representation of linear functions. Components of the students’ concept images, so-called ‘concept elements’, were studied as a way to capture their understanding. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Matematiska resonemang i en lärandemiljö med dynamiska matematikprogram

    Författare :Mats Brunström; Kenneth Ruthven; Arne Engström; Anne Berit Fuglestad; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical reasoning; Task design; Dynamic mathematics software; matematiska resonemang; uppgiftsdesign; dynamiska matematikprogram; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : The overall problem that formed the basis for this thesis is that students get limited opportunity to develop their mathematical reasoning ability while, at the same time, there are dynamic mathematics software available which can be used to foster this ability. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to knowledge in this area by focusing on task design in a dynamic software environment and by studying the reasoning that emerges when students work on tasks in such an environment. 5. 10. Assessing mathematical creativity : comparing national and teacher-made tests, explaining differences and examining impact

    Författare :Jesper Boesen; Johan Lithner; Torulf Palm; Gunnar Gjone; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mathematical reasoning; creative reasoning; moderate high stake; teacher made tests; imitative reasoning; assessment; impact; influence; effect; mathematical competence; national tests; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematical reasoning; creative reasoning; moderate high stake; teacher made tests; imitative reasoning; assessment; impact; influence; effect; mathematical competence; national tests;

    Sammanfattning : Students’ use of superficial reasoning seems to be a main reason for learning difficulties in mathematics. It is therefore important to investigate the reasons for this use and the components that may affect students’ mathematical reasoning development. LÄS MER
