16. Etiological and clinical studies of Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH)
Sammanfattning : Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disease of unknown origin. LCH may occur at any age but affects mainly children and the most severe forms of the disease are seen in the youngest children. In LCH, granulomatous lesions are formed in various organs. LÄS MER
17. Mitotic Kinesin-Like Protein 1 (MKLP1/KIF23) in hereditary congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type III and in cancer
Sammanfattning : A hereditary form of autosomal dominant congenital dyserythropoietic anaemiatype III (CDA III) has been reported in four families from Sweden, Argentina, Cuba and USA. CDA III patients might experience signs of mild anaemia and some of them need occasional blood transfusions. LÄS MER
18. Ion Tracks for Micro- and Nanofabrication : From Single Channels to Superhydrophobic Surfaces
Sammanfattning : A method is described for preset-count irradiations between 1 and 100 ions singling-out individual ions from an ion beam with more than a billion ions arriving per second. The ion tracks are etched in a conductometric system with real-time evaluation of the acquired data. The etch process can be interrupted when reaching a preset channel diameter. LÄS MER
19. Membrane-Polymer Interactions in Lipid Vesicles
Sammanfattning : Membrane related biological processes are commonly investigated in artificial biomimetic experimental systems. One of the most versatile models is based upon giant unilamellar phospholipid vesicles (liposomes), which are artificially generated spherical lipid structures in an aqueous environment. LÄS MER
20. Experimental radioimmunotherapy and effector mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Radioimmunotherapy is becoming important as a new therapeutic strategy for treatment of tumour diseases. Lately monoclonal antibodies tagged with radionuclides have demonstrated encouraging results in treatment of hematological malignancies. The progress in treatment of solid tumours using radioimmunotherapy, however, has been slow. LÄS MER
