  1. 16. Combined chemotherapy and immunotherapy against experimental malignant brain tumors

    Författare :Sara Fritzell; Neurokirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cisplatin; Glioma; GM-CSF; IFN-gamma; IL-7; Immunotherapy; Intratumoral chemotherapy; Temozolomide;

    Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Despite standard treatment including surgery, radiotherapy and temozolomide (TMZ)-based chemotherapy, the prognosis for GBM patients is dismal, and there is a need for novel treatments. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Antibody-based immunotherapy of cancer : From optimization to novel approaches

    Författare :Luuk van Hooren; Anna Dimberg; Eugene C. Butcher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer immunotherapy; CD40; CTLA-4; PD-1; Gal-1; tertiary lymphoid structures;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody immunotherapy is a successful therapeutic approach to treat cancer. The overall aim of this thesis is to investigate the mechanisms of antibody-based immunotherapies and the role of the tumor microenvironment in mediating the anti-tumor immune response, in order to aid the development of improved immunotherapies for cancer patients. 3. 18. Adenovirus-mediated CD40 Ligand Immunotherapy of Prostate and Bladder Cancer

    Författare :Helena Dzojic; Magnus Essand; Thomas H Tötterman; Aristides Eliopoulos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicine; immunotherapy; gene therapy; prostate cancer; bladder cancer; adenoviral vector; CD40 ligand; promoter; PPT; TSTA; depsipeptide FK228; TRAMP-C2; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer immunotherapy aims at reversing the immunosuppressive tumor environment and enhancing anti-tumor immunity. This thesis comprises studies on murine models for prostate (TRAMP-C2) and bladder (MB49) cancer with the aim to explore if the introduction of an adenoviral vector expressing CD40 ligand (AdCD40L) can induce anti-tumor immune responses. 4. 19. Preclinical evaluation of immunostimulatory gene therapy for pancreatic cancer

    Författare :Emma Eriksson; Angelica Loskog; Tanja de Gruijl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pancreatic cancer; immunotherapy; oncolytic viruses; adenoviruses; CD40L; 4-1BBL; IL-6; tumor microenvironment; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Pancreatic cancer is characterized by its desmoplastic tumor microenvironment and the infiltration of immunosuppressive cells. It is a devastating disease where most patients are diagnosed at a late stage and the treatment options are few. The development of new treatments is surly needed. LÄS MER
