  1. 1. TARP Promoter-Based Prostate Cancer Gene Therapy : From Development to Application

    Författare :Wing-Shing Cheng; Magnus Essand; Thomas H. Tötterman; Cecilia Lundberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Genetic engineering; TARP; PPT; TSTA; promoter; gene regulation; prostate specificity; hormone- independent; adenovirus; prostate cancer; gene therapy; conditionally replicating adenovirus; Genteknik; Genetic engineering including functional genomics; Genteknik inkl. funktionsgenomik;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one leading cause of cancer-related death among men in Western countries. The standard therapies for localized prostate cancer include radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy. Such measures are relatively effective in the short term, but many patients ultimately relapse. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Adenovirus-mediated CD40 Ligand Immunotherapy of Prostate and Bladder Cancer

    Författare :Helena Dzojic; Magnus Essand; Thomas H Tötterman; Aristides Eliopoulos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicine; immunotherapy; gene therapy; prostate cancer; bladder cancer; adenoviral vector; CD40 ligand; promoter; PPT; TSTA; depsipeptide FK228; TRAMP-C2; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer immunotherapy aims at reversing the immunosuppressive tumor environment and enhancing anti-tumor immunity. This thesis comprises studies on murine models for prostate (TRAMP-C2) and bladder (MB49) cancer with the aim to explore if the introduction of an adenoviral vector expressing CD40 ligand (AdCD40L) can induce anti-tumor immune responses. 3. 3. Persistence of polyomavirus : versus immunity to polyoma tumors

    Författare :Zsofia Berke; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :polyomavirus persistence; CD4--; CD8--; IgM--; XID; SCID; TSTA; T-antigen; tumor rejection.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to understand the role of different specific immune effectors with regard to polyomavirus persistence and polyomavirus induced tumor development. Furthermore, an MHC class I restricted short viral peptide was identified as a target for polyomavirus specific recognition of polyoma tumor cells. LÄS MER
