  1. 16. Novel Methods for Analysis of Heterogeneous Protein-Cell Interactions : Resolving How the Epidermal Growth Factor Binds to Its Receptor

    Författare :Hanna Björkelund; Karl Andersson; Lars Gedda; Yosef Yarden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Heterogeneity; Kinetics; EGFR; HER2; LigandTracer; Interaction Map; Internalization; Specificity; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Cells are complex biological units with advanced signalling systems, a dynamic capacity to adapt to its environment, and the ability to divide and grow. In fact, they are of such high level of complexity that it has deemed extremely difficult or even impossible to completely understand cells as complete units. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Resolving inflammation : analysis of mechanisms in relation to Alzheimer pathology and aging

    Författare :Ceren Emre; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia, and its clinical symptoms are the reflections of pathological changes in the brain. The main pathological features of AD are intracellular aggregates of hyper-phosphorylated tau protein and extracellular deposits of amyloid β (Aβ) peptide in amyloid plaques. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Anisotropy-resolving subgrid-scale modelling using explicit algebraic closures for large eddy simulation

    Författare :Amin Rasam; Arne Johansson; Bernard Geurts; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Turbulence; large eddy simulation; explicit algebraic subgridscale model; passive scalar; stochastic modelling; periodic hill flow; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis deals with the development and performance analysis ofanisotropy-resolving models for the small, unresolved scales (”sub-grid scales”,SGS) in large eddy simulation (LES). The models are characterised by a descriptionof anisotropy by use of explicit algebraic models for both the subgridscale(SGS) stress tensor (EASSM) and SGS scalar flux vector (EASSFM). LÄS MER

  4. 19. Apokoinou in Swedish talk-in-interaction : A family of methods for grammatical construction and the resolving of local communicative projects

    Författare :Niklas Norén; Per Linell; Jan Anward; Auli Hakulinen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; apokoinou; ethno-methods; dialogical grammar; utterance construction methods; syntax as process; prosody; grammatical constructions; communicative projects; Swedish talk-in-interaction; conversation analysis; interactional linguistics; apokoinou; etnometoder; dialogisk grammatik; metoder för yttrandekonstruktion; syntax som process; prosodi; samtalsgrammatiska konstruktioner; kommunikativa projekt; tal-i-interaktion; samtalsanalys; interaktionell lingvistik; Languages and linguistics; Språkvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : I den här avhandlingen undersöks den grammatiska samtalskonstruktionen apokoinou i svenskt samtalsspråk. I kontrast till traditioner av normativ grammatik och teoretiska perspektiv på språk, där apokoinou och besläktade fenomen har exkluderats från grammatisk beskrivning eller blivit behandlade som produkter av olika typer av misstag, är apokoinou här re-specificerad som en i högsta grad funktionell grammatisk resurs och metod för att åstadkomma lokala kommunikativa projekt i samtal. 5. 20. Safe Robotic Manipulation to Extract Objects from Piles : From 3D Perception to Object Selection

    Författare :Rasoul Mojtahedzadeh; Achim J. Lilienthal; Todor Stoyanov; Abdelbaki Bouguerra; Erik Schaffernicht; Patric Jensfelt; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Object Selection; Object Pose Refinement; Gravitational Support Relation; Inter-penetration Resolving; 3D Ranging Sensor Evaluation; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the task of autonomous selection of objects to remove (unload) them from a pile in robotic manipulation systems. Applications such as the automation of logistics processes and service robots require an ability to autonomously manipulate objects in the environment. LÄS MER
