    Sammanfattning : The use of fuel blends (conventional fuels blended with renewable ones) has gained importance in the automotive industry as an option to reduce emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. In order to make the fuel blends commercially viable, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to complement the experiments (done on engines or spray chambers) by providing fundamental insight into spray formation.     Sammanfattning : A series of numerical investigations is undertaken using a wide range of turbulence mod-els including conventional and non-conventional URANS models, hybrid URANS-LESmethods and LES to capture a large variety of physical mechanisms that produce pres-sure pulsations in the swirling flows.     Sammanfattning : My thesis aims to solve deep nodes in the eukaryote tree of life (eToL), by developing new data sets and new approaches to analysing them. In paper I, I described a dataset of 76 universal eukaryotic proteins of bacterial descent (euBacs), in order to test the relations among the three main divisions of mitochondriate eukaryotes (Amorphea, Diaphretickes and Discoba).
