  1. 1. Gender, Technology and Knowledge

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University

    Författare :Sara Goodman; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [1995]
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social Studies of Science and Technolgy STS ; Sweden; Gender; sociology; computerization; globalization; gender and work; gender division of labor; midwifery; midwives; India; reproductive technology; globalisation;

    Sammanfattning : During the last 15 years questions concerning gender, technology and knowledge, have become increasingly recognized as central to the field of the sociology of technology. Nonetheless, critical questions remain unanswered. These issues are addressed here through investigations of the relationship between gender, work, knowledge and technology. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ovarian Reserve and Assisted Reproduction

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Thomas Brodin; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AFC; AMH; anti-Müllerian hormone; antral follicle count; follicle-stimulating hormone; FSH; ICSI; infertility; intracytoplasmic sperm injection; in vitro fertilization; IVF; LH; live birth; luteinizing hormone; menstrual cycle; menstrual cycle length; ovarian reserve; pregnancy; reproductive endocrinology; reproductive technology; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Treatment success in IVF-ICSI is mainly limited by female age, but differences in ovarian reserve (OR; the remaining pool of oocytes and their quality) between individuals modify treatment prerequisites among women of similar age. OR may be assessed by OR tests (ORTs). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Acupuncture in reproductive medicine. Applications in human assisted reproduction and aspects of clinical and experimental neuroendocrinology

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Elisabet Stener-Victorin; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; electro-acupuncture; blood flow impedance; circulation; uterine artery; in-vitro fertilization; oocyte aspiration; polycystic ovary syndrome; experimentally induced PCO; anovulation; gonadotropins; steroids; neuropeptides; b-endorphin; nerve growth factor; corticotropin-releasing factor.;

    Sammanfattning : The use of acupuncture in the area of reproductive medicine is relatively new, and it has been rather poorly investigated in the past. When muscle afferents are stimulated by acupuncture in somatic segments related to the innervation of the ovaries and the uterus, functional changes occur in the neural substrate that may influence reproductive function and result in peripheral, segmental and central effects. 4. 4. Evolutionary Consequences of Reproductive Strategies Testing Theory on Sex and Reproductive Gene Evolution in the Fungal Model Neurospora

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Kristiina Nygren; Uppsala universitet.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I used the filamentous ascomycete genus Neurospora as a model to test theoretical predictions on the evolutionary consequences of different reproductive strategies and reproductive gene evolution. The genus Neurospora contains taxa representing a diversity of reproductive strategies, and here I constructed a phylogeny by which I was able to show that several independent transitions in reproductive mode have occurred in the evolutionary history of the genus. 5. 5. Age, Longevity and Life-History Trade-Offs in the Collared Flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis)

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Joanna Sendecka; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :Ecology; age; collared flycatcher; Ficedula albicollis; long-term study; senescence; longevity; reproductive success; selection; individual quality; breeding experience; reproductive effort optimization; terminal investment; life-history trade-offs; reproductive costs; Ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Age is often a neglected factor in ecological studies. However, age-related changes in reproduction and survival of organisms may strongly influence population dynamics. LÄS MER
