  1. 31. Selectivity in Palladium- and Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions : Focusing on Enhancement of Reactivity

    Författare :Peter Nilsson; Anders Hallberg; Mats Larhed; Matthias Beller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Palladium; Heck; PCR; Microwaves; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Catalysis has a profound impact on all living species on the earth. Nature’s catalysts, the enzymes, have the ability to selectively promote a specific bio-chemical transformation, given the required substrate. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Metal Cluster Reactivity. Adsorption of small molecules in biomolecular collisions

    Författare :Mats Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; O2; CO; ionization potential; Con; Fen; NO; sticking probability; laser ionization; D2; Wn; Cun; Rhn; reaction probability; cluster; jellium model; Nbn; metal cluster reactivity; N2; time-of-flight mass spectrometry; Nin;

    Sammanfattning : Metal clusters can be characterized as the tiniest possible metal particles, containing only an easily counted number of atoms. In this work, reactions between metal clusters and diatomic molecules have been investigated. We have constructed an experimental set-up to produce and detect clusters, and to investigate their chemical reactivity. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Physiological Stress Reactivity in Late Pregnancy

    Författare :Charlotte Hellgren; Inger Sundström-Poromaa; Helena Åkerud; Mats Hammar; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acoustic startle response; allopregnanolone; antenatal; anxiety; cold pressor test; cortisol; cortisol awakening response; depression; electrodermal; estradiol; hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis; postpartum; pregnancy; progesterone; skin conductance; stress; sympathetic nervous system; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : During pregnancy, the basal activity is increased in both of our major stress response systems: the sympathetic nervous system and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. At the same time, the reactivity towards stressors is reduced. These alterations sustain maternal and fetal homeostasis, and are involved in the regulation of gestational length. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Effects of oestrogen on haemodynamic and vascular reactivity - A study in animal models and humans

    Författare :Lisa Brandin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :adrenergic reactivity; endothelium; haemodynamic; hypertension; oestrogen; postmenopausal women; resistance arteries; spontaneously hypertensive rats; stress;

    Sammanfattning : Effects of Oestrogen on Haemodynamic and Vascular Reactivity A study in animal models and humans Lisa Brandin Institute of Medicine, Department of Emergency and Cardiovascular Medicine, Sahlgrenska University Hospital/Östra, Sahlgrenska Academy, Göteborg University, Göteborg, Sweden ABSTRACT Previous studies have shown that oestrogen, the female sex hormone, plays a protective role in the cardiovascular system. However the site of action remains incompletely understood. LÄS MER

  5. 35. New Reactivity in Diaryliodonium Salt Chemistry

    Författare :Erika Linde; Berit Olofsson; Thomas Wirth; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Diaryliodonium salts (Ar2IX) have emerged as versatile multi-purpose reagents with desirable properties such as easy accessibility, low toxicity and applicability under mild and metal-free reaction conditions. Despite displaying broad utility in arylations of both carbon and heteroatom nucleophiles, the overall sustainability of these protocols is compromised by featuring poor atom economy due to the formation of stochiometric iodoarene byproducts.
