21. BMP implants in bone formation. Studies in rabbits and rats
Sammanfattning : Bone morphogenic proteins, BMPs, are a group endogenous proteins that are highly conserved through evolution. The amino acid sequences of about 15 different BMPs are now known and recombinant human BMPs are commercially available. Implantation of an individual BMP protein is sufficient to induce bone formation even at a subcutaneous site. LÄS MER
22. Design and usability in telemedicine
Sammanfattning : A design of computer systems, that effectively supports the user, is a major goal within human-computer interaction. To achieve this, we must understand and master several tasks. These tasks concern firstly what to develop and secondly how to develop the system. LÄS MER
23. Planning in Inhabited Environments : Human-Aware Task Planning and Activity Recognition
Sammanfattning : Promised some decades ago by researchers in artificial intelligence and robotics as an imminent breakthrough in our everyday lives, a robotic assistant that could work with us in our home and our workplace is a dream still far from being fulfilled. The work presented in this thesis aims at bringing this future vision a little closer to realization. LÄS MER
24. Changes in endogenous cytokinin-like substances in seeds during dormancy release and early germination
Sammanfattning : From studies using non-dormant seeds, Zea mays L. and Phaseotus vulgaris L. transient peaks of endogenous cytokinin-like substances were observed after only 4 h of imbibition. LÄS MER
25. Preserving Privacy in Transparency Logging
Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the construction of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) for transparency logging, a technology at the intersection of privacy, transparency, and accountability. Transparency logging facilitates the transportation of data from service providers to users of services and is therefore a key enabler for ex-post transparency-enhancing tools (TETs). LÄS MER
