  1. 1. Hand injuries - epidemiology, costs and outcome

    Författare :HansE Rosberg; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Public health; epidemiology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; Folkhälsa; epidemiologi; traumatology; orthopaedics; Surgery; outcome; health economy; flexor tendon injury; costs; Hand injury;

    Sammanfattning : Hand injuries have a profound impact not only on the patient’s activity of daily living and during leisure time but also on working capability. Such injuries may therefore also generate substantial costs for society in terms of sick-leave and treatment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Scaphoid Fractures - epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment

    Författare :Peter Jörgsholm; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Scaphoid fracture; carpal fracture; paediatric; radiography; CT; MRI; arthroscopy; scapholunate ligament injury; radial comminution; surgical treatment; conservative treatment; fracture union;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The scaphoid is the most commonly fractured carpal bone. The diagnosis is difficult and untreated the long-term results are poor. Approximately 10% do not unite even if they are treated properly. The aim of this thesis was to study scaphoid fracture epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Life Style, Molecular Pathology, and Breast Cancer Risk

    Författare :Signe Borgquist; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hormone receptors; Breast cancer; tissue microarray; histopathology; ERβ; tumour proliferation; cyclin D1; p27; HMG-CoA reductas; life style factors; diet; hormone replacement therapy; obesity; endocrine therapy;

  4. 4. Brain plasticity and hand function

    Författare :Anders Björkman; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatologi; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatology; Surgery; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; hand function; nerve injury; brain plasticity; orthopaedics;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the effects of cortical reorganisational changes following experimental deafferentation and peripheral nerve injury and apply the concept of brain plasticity to enhance sensory re-education following peripheral nerve injury and repair in the hand. In the first two papers the effects on hand function of contralateral deafferentation was investigated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tendon autografts for bridging nerve defects

    Författare :Jerker Brandt; Malmö Handkirurgi; []

    Sammanfattning : A new method, where a tendon segment – a tendon autograft – was used as graft material for peripheral nerve reconstruction, was developed. Defects, 10-15 mm long, in rat sciatic nerves were bridged by various modifications of tendons. LÄS MER
