26. Radiolabeled acetate PET in oncology imaging : studies on head and neck cancer, prostate cancer and normal distribution
Sammanfattning : The use of positron emission tomography (PET) for imaging in oncology has grown rapidly in recent years. 2-[18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) is the most common tracer of PET, although drawbacks exist. LÄS MER
27. Positron Emission Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Techniques in Diabetes
Sammanfattning : In order to further advance the field of diabetes research there is a great need for establishing validated non-invasive quantitative techniques to study the pancreas and other tissues of importance for blood glucose regulation. The general aim of this thesis was to explore magnetic resonance techniques and positron emission tomography as such tools. LÄS MER
28. Quantification of pulmonary scintigraphy
Sammanfattning : Modern nuclear medicine techniques, such as SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography), enable quantification and localisation of lung function in small lung elements, but appropriate methods are not yet available. The aim of the present project was therefore to develop and evaluate methods for mapping lung function in planar scintigrams and in SPECT. LÄS MER
29. Nuclear magnetic resonance and microcirculation: The influence of pulsatile brain-tissue motion on measurements of intravoxel incoherent motion and assessment of haemodynamics using exo- and endogenous tracers
Sammanfattning : In this project, the potential of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and spectroscopy in studies of microcirculation and haemodynamics was evaluated. The spatial and temporal characteristics of human pulsatile brain-tissue movements in healthy individuals, relevant for the understanding of the cerebrospinal-fluid (CSF) circulation and the pathogenesis of hydrocephalus, were thoroughly investigated. 30. Development of mathematical modelling for the glycosylation of IgG in CHO cell cultures
Sammanfattning : Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are the most popular expression system for the production of biopharmaceuticals. More than 80% of the approved monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) or immunoglobulin G (IgG) are produced with these cells. Glycosylation is a usual post- translational modification important for therapeutic mAbs. LÄS MER
