  1. 16. Cerebral Perfusion and Metabolism during Experimental Extracorporeal Circulation

    Författare :Ove Jonsson; Stefan Thelin; Fredrik Lennmyr; Sven-Erik Ricksten; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cerebral perfusion; Experimental brain research; Experimentell hjärnforskning; Thoraxkirurgi; Thorax Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Neurologic injuries are major causes of mortality and morbidity after cardiac surgery. This thesis aimed to investigate cerebral metabolism and perfusion abnormalities in pigs during hypothermic circulatory arrest, selective antegrade cerebral perfusion (SACP) and extracorporeal circulation following progressive venous stasis. 2. 17. Isolated regional perfusion for metastases of malignant melanoma - Clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Roger Olofsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Malignant melanoma; Uveal melanoma; Isolated limb perfusion; Isolated hepatic perfusion; Immunology; Exosomes;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Isolated regional perfusion is a treatment option mainly for localized metastatic disease. The principle idea is to surgically isolate a region of the body and connect the circulation to a heart-lung machine. A high concentration of a chemotherapeutic agent is then delivered to the tumour, while systemic toxicity is avoided. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Ventilation/Perfusion Matching and its Effect on Volatile Pharmacokinetics

    Författare :Moritz Andreas Kretzschmar; Anders Larsson; Jan Jakobsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anesthesia; Animal models in research; Mass spectrometry; Gas chromatography; MIGET; Ventilation-perfusion; Desflurane; Isoflurane; Bronchoconstriction; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care;

    Sammanfattning : The mismatching of alveolar ventilation and perfusion (VA/Q) is the major determinant of impaired gas exchange. The gold standard for analyzing VA/Q distribution is the multiple inert gas elimination technique (MIGET), conventionally based on gas chromatography (GC), and, although simple in principle, a technically demanding procedure limiting its use. 4. 19. Detection of Myocardial Ischemia using Real-Time Myocardial Contrast Echocardiography

    Författare :Petri Gudmundsson; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial contrast echocardiography; MCE; stress echocardiography; adenosine; perfusion; real-time; visual; quantative; wall motion; power modulation; bedside; SPECT; coronary insufficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Diagnostisering av syrebrist i hjärtmuskeln med hjälp av kontrastförstärkt ultraljudsundersökning av hjärtmuskelns genomblödning. Ultraljudsundersökning av hjärtat (ekokardiografi) används mycket inom hjärtsjukvården idag, oftast för att utreda hjärtats och hjärtklaffarnas anatomi och funktion. LÄS MER

  5. 20. The effect of mechanical ventilation on the abdominal organs

    Författare :Silvia Marchesi; Miklós Lipcsey; Anders Larsson; Göran Hedenstierna; Eddie Weitzberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mechanical ventilation; abdominal organs; diffusion weighted imaging; magnetic resonance; perfusion; edema; inflammation; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care;

    Sammanfattning : During mechanical ventilation (MV), the interplay between abdomen and thorax has been studied unilaterally focusing on the effect that an increased abdominal pressure would have on the thorax. Only a small cluster of studies offered a different perspective showing a lower inflammation and a better lymphatic clearance of edema in abdominal organs when spontaneous breathing was applied compared to MV.
